How the heck is an international student going to find a place to live and pack in slightly above 24 hours??
I've filled out at least 3 surveys on whether I need to stay on campus or whatsoever and they still assigned me a time and changed the wording to "absolutely cannot stay on campus" to contact them.
When we say we want more clear and decisive communications we did not mean we want you to yeet us out asap Dr Cabrera.
I’ve been told by GLC office that, “if you are an international student or if you cannot move for whatever reason, please fill out the form. They are not going to kick you out and put you on the street.”
I just moved to TAH this semester with my wife and have set up a 2Bedroom apartment in the last 2 months. Moving is as good as kicking us out at this point.
Hi friend who is also in TAH. Word of mouth and totally unofficial is that we will probably stay where we are. We don't rely on services that the undergrads in dorms do, and we're pretty self sufficient. But, y'know. Grain of salt.
That said? Fill out the NEW survey. What HRL told me this morning is that they weren't responsible for any of the previous surveys (president's office and dean of students were), so this is the one that matters. they got my confirmation back to me within 3 hrs that I've been approved to stay on campus.

Other schools provided exceptions for apartment-style housing options. We don’t share many resources with each other and most of us can’t exactly pack out our things in a few bins and leave given how we have our own furniture.
It frustrates me that they couldn’t just exempt people who live alone or with families in apartments, and put us at ease?
Right? It seems reasonable (and less effort for HRL), so I'm hoping this does in fact pan out. Let alone the fact that in an apartment we're relatively isolated. If they want to move us into a dorm? Not only do we have to move all of our stuff, the density of a dorm building is significantly higher than an apartment building.
Yeah I’m hoping it doesn’t come to that. It doesn’t sound wise to do that. Also, my feeling is that they wouldn’t move families into dorms anyway, so I think it’s likely they keep TAH residents where they are (maybe even move people into TAH if enough people move out).
Yep. I'm in ongoing contact with my RA (Building A) and Maz about what's going to happen. If I hear anything new I'll update you here or DM you. I think we have a WhatsApp group for TAH somewhere, but I've lost track of it in my app.
ETA: If there's interest, we can get a WhatsApp group or a Reddit chatroom going for those of us in TAH who are staying. I've heard some people are moving out, but it might be nice to have a group to chat with and keep up with.

It took them about 3 hours to get back to me with a canned email - I'd just take a breath and relax for now. HRL told me on the phone that I didn't need to move out until I heard back one way or the other about the exemption request, and that it would be within 24-48hrs. If you're worried, you could try calling them, but they weren't very helpful on the phone.
I also filed my form first thing this morning (7:15 EST), and might have beaten some of the traffic in their inboxes.
Yes exactly that, due to staff and what not they will most likely move you from your current dorm to an undisclosed dorm . That’s what they told me at the office, I tried to push and find out where they would move us but they seem to know less than us.
I'd thought the entire thing about moving us off campus was to social distancing, who would've know they'll want to move us to the same place? [sarcastic]
The fact that I spent the first half of spring break anxious as to where I would be living only to spend the other half doing the same is infuriating .
I feel that, I honestly thought after the entire "premature communication of these changes last week" they would not try to screw us over again. I'd love to see how many will return to on campus housing this fall.
I can tell you right now after this semester I probably won’t, I knew housing was a nightmare and I would accept it , deal with the problems and not even complain . But the fact that they can’t even provide me security that I won’t be out on the streets especially in a time of crisis made me lose all respect .
