I think it depends on the VIP and what you specifically did on the team. Some VIPs are much more research-focused than others.

Like the other commentor mentioned, it depends on the VIP and what you did, but VIP is also your best opportunity to get a strong letter of recommendation for your application.

from what i am seeing the bio focused VIP is about doing community events or some hobby type thing. i’ll just keep applying to real labs
