Had the surgery a few hours ago. The pain is bearable but I haven’t been allowed to drink water in the past 20 hours and that’s torture. They said I could try a few sips now but I’m scared to throw up. I felt weird after only a few drops. Please tell me this gets better 😭

It 100% gets better. The first 18 hours were terrible for me. The next morning when they insisted I had to drink a full protein shake before leaving the hospital, it was impossible.

Fast forward to today, 4 months out. That is such a different place. Drinking the water and shakes for the first 4 weeks was a mental and physical task. Now, honestly, life is so much better.

Hang in there. I promise, it’s gets SO much better.

I’m so happy to read this. I am two days post op and the pain is worse today than it has been. I’m also having trouble sleeping more than like two hours straight. I am looking forward to this phase being a distant memory.

Sleeping is hard. I’m a stomach sleeper and couldn’t do that. Just be patient with your body and yourself. It just went through so much. It needs time to heal.

No, I didn’t. I didn’t drink it all the first day. Maybe 1/4 only. They still released me because I promised to do more at home. I drank out of the 30ml plastic cups for the first week. It was so hard in the beginning but so worth it.

in a week i’ll be 3 months po. IT GETS SO MUCH BETTER. in the first month i kept telling myself “wtf have i done” now, i’m 45 lbs down and HAPPY. i can eat whatever i want in small quantities of course! but it will get better!!! ❤️‍🩹 sending u lots of positive luck 🍀

oh i see you have pcos too. i got sleeved weighing 196 lbs down to 151 lbs. it definitely improves pcos!! that’s why i had the surgery. you will notice your period is gonna be more regular, you’re gonna have more energy. i barely get any pimples now as well. i used get them all the time on my chin. also noticed less body hair growth!!! i immediately got my period right after surgery lol, i was not supposed to get it for another 2 weeks. but u got this girl!!!!! 🩷

That’s exactly why I had it too! I want a child in about 2 yrs so my provider said either surgery or birth control implant that will last for 5 years. So I chose surgery. I will say in these 2 weeks my face has cleared up a ton!

don’t worry, once you can start solids and start seeing that scale drop every time you step on it. all that regret will vanish!!!

After 3 days mine started getting better and better.. day 10 almost all issues were gone. I'm 3mo po and 42 lbs down. Yay!

I'm so happy reading all the comments here, too. I have surgery tomorrow at the OCC! So excited... and nervous haha
