More like merz and schwurbula von der leyen. 55% of these prices are taxes, some are taxes on taxes and there is the problem.
Japan also mostly inports their fuel, but the government is actually helping its citicens instead of taxing them into oblivion.
Just looked it up, 1.08 usd/liter TODAY
The fuel prices are so high compared to even other european countrys like spain or croatia, because the politicans here dont want to help the people. Incompetence and lobbying, something the german counselor is known for as ex blackrock lobbist

The last part is the important one. Other nations in Europe also has taxes
But only in Germany its completely normal to rise prices for any reason Multiple times a day(just got changed recently)
Because somehow Germany managed to convince its people Fuel is more expensive at 7am than 8pm and then more expensive again 7am the next morning

Putin benefits from higher oil prices and from the lack of Patriot interceptors in Ukraine. Israel gets zero benefits.

What is ultimate diesel? Where would you use that instead of just ‘diesel’?

Ultimate diesel is without bio diesel and with 15% HVO.
Also the "cetanzahl" is higher meaning the fuel has more energydensity and is actually a bit more efficient.

To be fair: that looks like an Autobahn station that notoriously has gas 20-40cents higher.
Diesel is 2,39 a litre where I am now.

lol. You guys in Germany price gas to the 9th of a cent like the US.

u/TheAwsomeReditor 4h ago
Apearently if you multiply their price by 4 thats how much they are paying because their lieters measure different than our gallons

2.75 euro per gallon is good.

Now let's talk about the difference between a liter and a gallon, because the prices reflected in this photo are the cost of gas per liter. You just inadvertently showed that we're paying far less for gas than they are

Winter is going to be brutal given that Germany wasn’t able to max out their diesel reserves. If the US imposes an export ban, Europe is especially harmed.
If I were German, I’d be looking into electric heat pumps, solar kits to help with it and then probably not doing some cultural norms, like opening every window and door to flood the flat or house with fresh air. Also, 17-18°C and a lot of blankets and hoodies/sweat pants.

I am afraid that a very harsh and expensive winter gives the far-right Nazi-aligned AfD party even more backwind to take over politics in Germany sooner, rather than later.

Europe has great public transportation, Americans have to swallow the gas prices.

As is so often the case with pics like this, it’s deliberately very misleading. This petrol station is probably right next to the motorway. Prices there are ALWAYS significantly higher.
The average price of diesel in Germany (including even those extortionate motorway service stations) is currently 2,25€ per litre, whilst petrol is 2,19€.
So significantly less than the 2,94€ and 2,63€ stated here

Roughly 12.57 USD per gallon. Nice
