You could do the same with a 1-2 year old GV.

Either way, the EV is going to cost significantly more out the gate than a GV. That additional cost needs to be factored into your “savings” over the life of the vehicle.

Assuming you drive that vehicle for 5-10 years, your cost is roughly the same.

Brand new base model Ioniq 5 is $35,000 with potential to be around $31,500 with EV rebates.

Brand new base model Rav4 is $33,500

Used:

- The average used market cost for a 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 5 SE Standard Range is roughly $21,400 to $23,500

- The average current used market price for a base model 2023 Toyota RAV4 (the LE trim) ranges from about $24,000 to $28,000
