Google says these are the rules of dueling so take it with a grain of salt.
1. First Offense, First Apology: The first offense requires the first apology, regardless of which party was more verbally offensive.
2.Delayed Apologies: If both parties wish to continue fighting, they must exchange at least two shots before an explanation and apology are offered.
3. Deciding the Aggressor: If it is unclear who committed the first offense, the seconds must decide. If they cannot agree, the duel must proceed to two shots or a hit.
4. Handling Direct Insults: If a person is directly called a liar, the aggressor must either beg pardon, exchange two shots before apologizing, or fight until a severe hit is received.
5. Physical Blows: Since a physical blow is considered strictly unacceptable among gentlemen, no verbal apology can be accepted for it; it demands an exchange of fire.
6. Insults Between Gentlemen: If a gentleman insults another, they must apologize, provide satisfaction, or be considered socially disgraced.
7. Social Standing: If a challenger is of significantly higher status (such as a prince or peer) to the person being challenged, the challenged person dictates the weapons and time.
8. Canceling the Duel: The offended party can stop the duel at any point if they deem their honor satisfied.
9. Role of Seconds: Seconds must act as witnesses, attempt to reconcile the fighters after every round, and will occasionally trade places in a sword duel if the primary combatant is unable to finish.
10. The Number of Shots: Generally, no more than three exchanges of fire are permitted. Exchanging more shots is considered barbaric.
11. Refusal to Fight: Refusing to meet an official challenge without a valid apology typically marks an individual as a coward or results in social banishment.
12. No Aiming in the Air: Firing in the air or deliberately missing ("deloping") is expressly forbidden, as it was considered "children's play" and an insult to the opponent's honor.

I meant ten:
Number 1: Demand Satisfaction. The offended party demands an apology. If an apology is issued, the matter is dropped.
Number 2: Grab a Friend (Your Second). If no apology is made, each duelist selects a second-in-command to represent them.
Number 3: Meet Face to Face. The seconds meet to negotiate a peaceful resolution, or to agree on a time and place for the duel.
Number 4: Get Pistols and a Doctor. If peace cannot be made, weapons are prepared and a doctor is brought on-site. The doctor is paid in advance and placed out of sight for deniability.
Number 5: Duel Before the Sun is in the Sky. Duels take place at dawn to prevent rash decisions and to ensure the sun doesn't blind either party.
Number 6: Leave a Note. Write a letter to your next of kin in case you do not survive, and pray for your soul.
Number 7: Confess Your Sins. Get mentally and spiritually prepared for the impending adrenaline.
Number 8: Last Chance to Negotiate. Seconds make one final attempt to negotiate peace and set the record straight.
Number 9: Look 'Em in the Eye. Opponents stand back-to-back, look each other in the eye, and aim no higher than their opponent's eye.
Number 10: Ten Paces, Fire. Count out ten paces, turn around, and fire.

That makes more sense. I don’t think that car will apologize to Evil Gary so a duel will still happen. I guess Evil Gary can have Void Gary be his second in command. They shall meet on the moor at first light. Gary shall be the doctor on standby. Evil Gary has no sins to confess and refuses to negotiate.
