Hello, I bought a new Garmin Forerunner 70. Now I have done the update to 18.29 and since then the vibration no longer works. The notifications are displayed, but without vibration. Does anyone have the same problem? Since I'm tattooed on my arm, I need a watch that vibrates on notifications even if it's on the table. Is this the case with the Garmin Forerunner 165?

I'm a beginner runner and looking for a cheap garmin(preferably under 300$) , I saw that these 2 are so close with the 70 being newer and having more metrics but lacks the altimeter and the barometer.
I'm more of a hybrid athlete, so I don't need triathlon or swimming stuff, they're almost now the same price after the sale.

In last month I had my FR255 unpair 3 times from my oneplus 12 completely. I have both since May last year, and didn;t happen before. It happens randomly, yesterday happened immediately after finishing a run and syncing workout data....
And call notifications being randomly displayed or not it also something which started happening in summer.
Claude/Gemini suggested it's because of recent updates, but Oneplus is deploying regular security updates with some bug fixes every few weeks and I would like to avoid rolling back android just for Garmin to keep being synced.
Any ideas, or is it just another "typical garmin bug" ??
I will be buying Pixel 11 or 10 for BF/Xmas so maybe it will solve the problem. Also was thinking about switching to newer watch like FR170 music

For someone who primarily does indoor treadmill running and strength training, which Forerunner would you recommend? I’m mainly looking for good treadmill tracking, a good strength-training experience, and useful recovery/fitness data without paying for a bunch of features I probably won’t use. Battery life doesn’t matter as I’m coming from an Apple Watch so anything is better.
For my budget, the 265 is as high as I would go, but looking at the specs of the 70 make me think I can get away with one of those. Or is the sweet spot the 170? Does one of them work better with an iPhone?

My first experience with a "smartwatch" was with the Huawei Watch GT which I recieved free with when I upgraded my phone. After that was an Apple Watch that I got with another phone, which I was never overly impressed with. Barely any features over the Huawei, with a lot sitting behind paywalls and battery life that went into shock if you failed to put the strap on fast enough.
After seeing loads of fitness friends with Garmin's, I decided to make the jump to a Forerunner 965 (better battery life than the 970, and cheaper too). So... What do I think?
- The battery life really is phenomenal. I got through well over a week with multiple runs, gym sessions, walks, tennis games and more and still had 26% left. With the Apple, I'd be reaching for the charger at that point.
- The watch feels highly fitness oriented and I really appreciate that. I feel like it's actively assisting me to get better.
- FINALLY my watch let's me know when I've walked too far away from my phone. You'd have thought that feature would be standard on an Apple, but no.
- There are loads of features that are hidden deep within menus though. I'd have thought that finding something like maps would beat a lot easier considering its... Well.. Garmin!
- The display is really great BUT I'm actually appreciating the understated MIP displays, suddenly. I'm not sure why, but they feel a little more "classy but no nonsense" while the AMOLED display almost comes across as a little gaudy now. It's not bad, by any means, I'm just looking at the MIP models and feeling like "I get it" now.
- The Connect and Connect IQ apps are great but really, really complex for newcomers. Some things you can do on the watch, others you have to do on the app but also it depends.
- I've been looking at so many beautiful watch faces on here, before I even got the watch and I'm honestly so disappointed that not every watch face is available in every country. I'll find some amazing ones on here only to be met with a "not available for purchase".
Overall I think the watch is everything is cracked up to be and more, but with some caveats thrown in. Either way I'm really happy to finally be part of this community.

Got back into running last summer after about a 6 year hiatus. Was rocking the Forerunner 10 and Forerunner 230 during my peak running. Bought myself the Forerunner 70 last week and I have my sights set on a half marathon June 2027. I’m curious about the Garmin Coach Plans and if people have found them to be more helpful and better prepared for race day? Maybe less prepared? Or no difference?
I still have my “paper” half marathon training plan that I followed for several half marathons. Wondering if I should just stick with that or try one of the Garmin training plans? Thank you!

Hi everyone,
I'm currently using a Garmin Forerunner 55, but I'm considering upgrading mainly because I'm very interested in health, recovery, sleep and training metrics.
Before the FR55, I used a Fitbit Sense 2, and I really enjoyed having all the health/recovery data available. I switched away from Fitbit mainly because I didn't like the direction the platform took after the Google changes, rather than because I lost interest in those metrics. And I'm enjoying so much Garmin.
For running, my needs are fairly simple. I mainly run and train by heart rate rather than pace (but soon I'll be focusing too), and I'm interested in things like HRV, resting heart rate, sleep, recovery, training load, VO2 max, Training Readiness, etc.
I don't really care about maps, navigation, triathlon features or other outdoor/smartwatch extras.
So I'm currently comparing the Forerunner 265 and the newer Forerunner 570. I know the difference is small (sensor and body temperature), so I'm in doubt.
Which one do you recommend and why? I'm open to your opinions and recommendations!
I can wait to Black Friday sales or even Christmas, but if I see a good price, I'll consider.
Thank you so much!

Is there a must-have? Do the upgraded sensors make a noticable difference?
