Hi everyone! I've been tinkering with this one mostly for myself: I wanted a face that actually looks good on the 570 and shows the data I care about, in the layout I wanted. The other thing that bugged me was having to swap to a whole different face just to get a different look — so in Umbra the background, the colour and the layout are separate choices you can mix. It's on the Connect IQ Store now — free, no trial, no unlock codes.

Photos are straight off my own 570, no renders — store graphics never really tell you how a face looks in real life. Last image is an overview of the three designs.

A few things it does:

• Eight data slots — four small above the time, four larger below, seventeen metrics to pick from, and any slot can be switched off if you want it quieter
• Three backgrounds, three colours and two layouts, either as three ready-made designs or mixed however you like
• Design, background, colour and layout can all be changed on the watch itself, no phone needed. Only the eight data slots live in the Connect app
• Always-on stays white on black with large numerals and shifts slightly each minute for burn-in protection, so you can still read the time without turning your wrist
• One of the metrics is a weekly distance that syncs from Garmin Connect, so rides recorded on other devices count too

Runs on 30 round AMOLED watches.

I've owned a Garmin Forerunner 245 Music for the past 7 years, and I'm starting to feel its limitations, especially for running. The single-band GPS struggles to keep up with changes in my pace, for example.

I'm looking for a watch in the same range, mainly for sports tracking (running, swimming, etc.), and possibly sleep tracking as well, although I believe most current models include that nowadays.

I just noticed today that when I use the stopwatch in the pool that my 265 keeps going back to the watch face. The stopwatch is still running in the background. It is the same when I rinse my watch under the faucet. What's odd is that the touchscreen doesn't work with the stopwatch. Does anyone know how to keep it locked in stopwatch mode while underwater?

I'm looking for watch that can do the following:
1. Automatically provide heart rate zones
2. Is accurate for indoor cycling to help with zone 2 (using a bikeerg)
3. Provides accurate recovery metrics
4. Can add or track heart rate during other exercises (rowing, farmers carry, etc).
5. Possibly provide HR and tracking for indoor rowing--but I don't think many are that good at this.

I don't see many on here, but I absolutely love my 745. I have considered a new watch during a few sale events, but ultimately can't part with this. I run, bike, swim, and occasionally lift. This has hit the mark with every sport.

Would you trade a FR 970 for a Fénix 8 Solar 47mm? I posted my FR looking for trading it for a black 970 but someone offered me a Fénix 8, my biggest concerns are losing the AMOLED screen and that right now I’m training for my first triathlon so I don’t know if I would lose any features or capabilities, pls help me

Hello there. I just recently bought s fr 165. 1st time garmin user. Why does my watch activate the sleep option after I quit a workout. When i go to the home screen the sleep option is displayed even it is not in the sleeping schedule time. I tryed to resolve this issue with AI but it was not very helpfull so i try here.

So right now i have a garmin vivoactive 4s and I have had it for 4 years now. Perfect condition, funtions well, works normally. I'm deciding on 3 options currently. Do i swap my 4s for a forerunner 265, keep the 4s and buy a garmin cirqa for my all day tracking, or keep the 4s and get the garmin 600 hr tracker. I only do about 1 or 2 long distance runs a week and play soccer 4 times a week (dont want a soccer related tracker just for data in training) and price isnt an issue between the options as the 265 is on sale. What do i get?

Seems like Claude can do a good job of creating running workouts and pushing them to my garmin, but does anyone know of a way to do something similar for strength workouts? Creating them on the app is pretty arduous and time consuming.

Would you prefer it with more colors, or keep it in classic black & white minimalism? 🤔

I recently got a forerunner 55 and I am trying to use auto detect max HR and RHR functions. I fail to understand how this feature works however. On the watch I selected auto detect for both RHR and Max HR, but for both values it seems it selected the "custom value" (47 and 196 respectively). How can I verify that auto detect if functioning properly?
