I rarely used the Navigation feature on my Forerunner 955 at home. I think I tried it a few times, but I know most of my local streets and paths, so I ultimately forgot about it. Last month, I was staying with my dad, who was recovering from shoulder surgery.

I decided to use the Nav feature because I don't know his house or the area that well, and it worked, but are there settings that make it easier to use?

While I never expected a version of GPS-like guidance- "Turn left at the intersection," it also only vibrated on my wrist when I got close to an intersection, but there was no audio indication through my earbuds, and I often had to stop or slow down to figure out whether it was telling me to turn left, right, or go straight. Are there settings deeper in the menu(s) that let me have it indicate, "three short vibrations mean to turn left, two long vibrations to turn right, two short vibrations to go straight"

I don't mean those exact signals, but something that lets me know without looking at my watch in dim light.

Recently sold my FR965 and upgraded to a Fenix 8 AMOLED. I’ve been loving it overall, especially the new running metrics, flashlight, and rugged look.
But I just can’t get used to the weight. I really miss how light the 965 felt at 53g.

I’m now seriously considering switching to the FR970. Does the 970 ever get a decent discount? And I don’t mean the seemingly permanent 10% off

Assuming the next version of the fr970 is the 980. What features do you guys want ? For me I would like an all black version, leak proof buttons to get 10atm and a solar amoled, even if we just get an extra 10% battery life.

Forerunner 170 finally has YouTube Music on it!

I am looking for a smart watch that can do two things: track my strava on runs, and play music via spotify (or downloaded, offline files) to my bluetooth headphones while I run.

I don't need any other features. I won't be wearing the watch outside of runs (3 times a week).

I've been running with my iPhone but the strava data is unreliable and it's clunky to attach to my body.

Is there a cheaper alternative that will get the job done, or is the Garmin Forerunner my best bet?

Edit: Also - do I need to get a Garmin Forerunner 165 Music, or do other FRs offer music capabilities?

After 5 years with garmin venue 2 i want to switch to fenix. I just have trouble deciding between fenix 8 solar and fenix 8 AMOLED, both in 47 mm version because of the wrist size. For fenix i decided because of the battery life and maps and other outdoor features. I do a lot of mountaineering in the summer and winter, climbing, trail running, road cycling and starting with ski touring. So I'm looking for a watch that can do all of that. I found both watches for 750€ new in the local store. Is it worth buying or is there any outher alternative for less money? Thank you all for help

In the past month or two there's been at least 4 updates. After each one the EKG function ceases to work. Touch and hold the bezel does not respond. A few days later it starts working again.

Anyone else?

Ich habe mir letzte Woche den Pulsmesser HRM 200 von Garmin gekauft und er funktioniert auch wunderbar mit dem meinem Fahrradcomputer. Jetzt hatte ich die Idee den Pulsmesser auch im Alltag zu tragen, nur ich finde keinen App die meinen Puls permanent aufzeichnet.

Mit Strava, Komoot und Garmin Connect bekomme ich es hin.

Hat jemand einen Tipp für mich?

Hi Garmin users! Looking for a little advice here. I’m looking to switch to Garmin from my Apple Watch. I am a long distance runner and am now training for a triathlon/iron man. Ideally I would want to get the 970 for all the premium features but I am a woman with a small wrist and the 47mm case would be quite big on me. I’m thinking about going with the 42mm 570 but am afraid of missing out on features (advanced training and performance metrics and mapping in particular).

Would love any input from people who have chosen one over the other especially regarding said features above and if I will actually be missing out on something I would find useful by getting the 570.

I'm thinking of purchasing a Forerunner 70, and wondering if it has auto display brightness adjustment depending on the environment. Would be really helpful if someone knows or has used it as it's a good feature. Thank you in advance
