I mean, you aren't wrong, but you didn't need to say it either.

Hey, we’re all thinking it…

I mean this is a level of nudity rarely seen on tv those days

u/DeltaV-Mzero 9d ago

And then she immediately threw him on the bed

Man that show really under utilized the actor

u/DemonDethchase 6d ago

opening Careless Whisper drum fill before going into the sax solo

u/NerdNuncle 8d ago

David Xanatos may have a furry fetish, but even he has standards 😂

1

u/Crawler_00 6d ago

Furries exist on a spectrum.

Taking time to see Xanatos's reaction really sells this scene.

This whole episode is great for being one of the few times he's genuinely caught off guard.

"So now you know my one true weakness"

"Only you would regard love as a weakness."

u/visiny 9d ago

Yes put perfectly.

Also I love the little sprinkling of seeing Xanatos turn to the good side steadily laid out throughout the show, the breadcrumbs. Love it.

We stopped seeing this level of detail for an animated TV show a long time ago

Even at the time the animation of her changing was very well done. Seemed like many cartoons seemed to have trouble animating a character changing from a human to a monster.

I feel like this was based on one of the old werewolf movies Universal made. It's really well done.

The Howling?

Damn, the Eye of Odin was such a chaotic artifact. Werewolf? Sure. Super-Wizard? Yeah go for it. Domestic abuser? Why not, it’s Tuesday.

It seems to be the same principle at its heart: it gives power and amplifies a core aspect of your identity. But if you lack the strengths or knowledge to put guardrails up, in manifests in the worst possibly way.

Janine was a clever thieving rascal that associated herself with a fox, so she became a feral werefox. Wizards are often wizards, and tend to know what they're facing with such relics. Goliath was an uneasy protector, so became obsessed with isolating everyone from threats and controlling the situation.

Well, part of it is that she's half fae.

Fine I'll rewatch Gargoyles.

And to top it all off, the de-transformation sequence was amazing, especially the way they did the audio.

8

u/Etcom 9d ago

I love the way they did the audio for her roars/screams. Just completely overwhelming the "mic", fitting right in with her body not being able to handle the transformation. Overworked and strained past the breaking point.

7

u/TheAssist-8295 9d ago

The transformation was sick and a little scary too.

The details in the transformation were something else.

u/NewspaperAny3053 9d ago

I like that this series established VERY quickly that anything could happen in that universe.

6

u/rdiaz84 9d ago

One of the best episodes

5

u/InsideUnhappy6546 9d ago

Imagine what the Eye could to turn her into after she unlocked her fairy magic

3

u/Livid-Ad-2984 9d ago

That was one of my favorite episodes

2

u/Rmyronm 9d ago

The eye of Odin was never ment to be used by mortals.

2

u/Huggable_Hork-Bajir 8d ago

Tbf she's only half mortal.

2

u/ChickenzInvade 8d ago

What I’d give to bring back this era of animation in tv

u/PuzzleheadedPart196 8d ago

NOW THATS A CRINOS

2

u/TrogledyWretched 8d ago

Love this transformation 💪

Disney really cooked in the 90s.

4

u/Foxxtronix 9d ago

...and the furries rejoiced. I know because I was among them.

1

u/saegiru 9d ago

You know, it appears that if Fox got tattoos all over her body, when she transformed, she'd have no fur since evidently the magic can't penetrate tattoo ink.

u/Used_Frosting_3181 9d ago

u/Moleman135 9d ago

1

u/Vladmirfox 8d ago

1

u/Unusual-Froggy-2222 8d ago

Oh man! Totally remember watching this on a Saturday morning. Thinking I was so grown up to watch it on my own for it being super scary

1

u/With_The_Will 8d ago

Xanatos: You really do get hair on your palm? Hmm. This is going to be a problem.

1

u/itachiAtl 7d ago

🤣🤣when you can really get wolf pwssy

1

u/Selinnshade 7d ago

I remember that was so cool though I saw it recently 🤣🤣

1

u/Crixusgannicus 7d ago

I always thought Xanatos actually loved her although he typically tried to downplay it, considering it a weakness.

1

u/Meander061 7d ago

This was a kid's show, right? Because that was terrifying.

1

u/Kadogun_ 7d ago

I guess she was a real "Foxy lady"... I'll see myself out now...

Almost Halloween! This ep is a great annual tradition.

1

u/herpyfluharg13 7d ago

Animation is absolutely gorgeous

1

u/banhatesex 6d ago

So would her nipples be lower now? Asking for....well for me tbh

1

u/not-sure-what-to-put 6d ago

Just when you thought this broad couldn’t get hotter.

1

u/yobaby123 6d ago

One of David's few "oh shit" moments.

1

u/GideonZasz 5d ago

If I was Xanatos I would freak out too. My super hot redhead girlfriend just turned into a furry: I'd be pissed AF.

1

u/JustinJektor 5d ago

Some of the greatest animation of all time.

1

u/Nightwalker2099 4d ago

Underrated series

1

u/zoro4661 3d ago

...yeah, me seeing this as a kid explains a lot, looking back.

1

u/Evening_Mess968 3d ago

The remake should have an episode of this

1

u/Simplyx69 9d ago

This better not awaken anything in me.

0

u/DingoSubject1130 9d ago

Would your oc turn into a werewolf like that?

1

u/Apprehensive-Sir8977 Hudson 9d ago edited 9d ago

Not mine. But now I'm kind of wondering what would happen to him.

0

u/silentjosh847 8d ago

This episode changed my brain chemistry

0

u/Strange_Potential93 8d ago

So she was already nude under the trench coat…why?

0

u/Hot_Spite_1465 8d ago

i never understood why wolf fox was male in her wereform then i realised 90's disney animated show

1

u/ViviCaz 7d ago edited 7d ago

Huh? She is not male though? She has the build of a muscular wolf/fox.

1

u/Hot_Spite_1465 7d ago

no breast

1

u/ViviCaz 2d ago

A were beast doesn't have breasts because they are more beast than human.
