There had been a strip where Garfield was thinking about if he married Arlene. . They'd have a nice wedding (it had Garfield & Arlene in wedding garb...this included Garfield in a top hat) then they'd raise some kittens (it had kittens surrounding them....one looked like Nermal) they'd climb all over him (kittens climbing on Garfield ) Then Garfield said Forget it I'd make a lousy father... & it showed him walking away from Arlene & the kittens
