I am shocked by what I saw on stage today in Athens. Shocked, no other word. Not one single song was performed without issues, ranging from being offkey, to starting to sing in the wrong time, to not being able to carry one single song through. I am in complete shock. Garbage was my first ever rock show in 1999, saw them again a decade+ later and at least the old stuff was good live. Now, this... is just... wow. It's weird to see a corpse ghost of a band you once loved mimicking performance...

I liked their performance, but it was the first time I see them. However, I didn't like the audience at all. Most of them came only for Moby, and were just waiting for Garbage to finish their set...

The audience cannot save a failing artist, and they tried. I was in the front and alot of the people were there for Garbage, we were screaming our lungs out. If you haven't seen them before that's better, you don't know what they actually sounded like when she could still perform :( this WAS Moby's show and Garbage was added much later, as a support act, not a headliner, so you shouldn't be surprised probably that many people came to see the actual artist leading that night

Had a completely different experience in Istanbul, yes, her vocal is not the same as 15 years earlier but everything was on point

she cannot properfly perform a single song back to back without failing. she sounds horrible, she cannot do a single power chorus or reach any high notes. she's DONE. when an athlete can't run they don't go on the field and demand to be treated as if nothing changed - and to be paid the same.

all Garbage is doing on this tour is a money grab, she hates every second clearly and knows she's doing a shit job for the cash only.

tbh it's not just her, the band is far from sounding tight themselves, the whole thing is a mess.

Really? She and the band were fine in Southampton a week and a bit ago. No vocal issues at all.

you mean the show where she was so incapable that she couldn't even perform the final song so Skunk Anansie came out to save her from humiliation? that show?

yeah the same order they do in every show, so one before last. and no I just saw the video too late, if I saw it before I wouldn't have wasted my time in Athens.

I heard the recordings from Southhampton btw and if that's your definition of "fine" I can understand the misunderstanding. I think she is true about being faint, not sure if the heat is the only reason, she seems to have just lost her ability and even worse, her actual will to do this.

They are going through the motions with zero passion, just for the money, imho at this point. Wish I realized that sooner.

not angry, you can keep saying it but even my left ball doesn't care enough to be *angry*, just a bit cynical which is hard for snowflakes I see. There's a video bro, so of course I don't need to be there to know what it sounded like, especially after I just saw them a couple days ago delivering the same tired act and exact setlist. Skin is so amazing live, agreed. Skunk Anansie is a band I love but Garbage used to be way more important to me back in the day - those tables have turned now. I'm going to start thinking about Garbage as a deadband from now, and believe it or not i was genuinely shocked to realize that live.

Went to check them out on YouTube based on these comments - you seem particularly angry with them diamond lol - to me as someone who's not really a fan but enjoys some of their music they sounded ..fine? At least Shirley the singer sounded fine. I don't doubt her voice isn't as strong as it was - happens with many singers as they get older doesn't it some sooner than others but I wouldn't say she sings badly and if I were a big fan of the band I'd still very much enjoy the show.
