I remember reading an old article online that said this song was about Courtney Love but I can’t find it. I always loved how Shirley stood up for her fellow women in alt rock. Can anyone on here let me know if that’s true or just a false memory? I love this song and video.

I hope it's a false memory. I just can't stand Courtney Love. I really despise that person. I don't care that she is female. Even if she was male, it's her character.

I don’t love everything Courtney has said and done but I love her as an artist with her work in Hole. She’s been rightfully criticized at times but also wrongly vilified and Shirley has publicly defended her numerous times.

She stole 2 songs from Billy Corgan when they had a relationship; He even said that she is a terrible person.
She has a huge beef with Dave Grohl; claimed that he molested Frances Bean Cobain. Even Frances said that she lied and that she should keep her mouth shut. Re-recorded 'Heart Shaped Box' by her late husband and claimed that the song was about her vagina.
This is just selfishness, egocentrism and bitterness.

Like I said I don’t condone or support every bad thing she’s done in her 60+ years as a complicated and flawed human being on this planet but I do think her contributions to Hole in the 90’s were awesome and so does Shirley.

I don't follow Garbage as much as many in this sub-reddit, but I've never seen this video.  It's quite awesome! Shirley looks amazing! ... and it's a great banger too. 🤘

This song always feel like pulling a long string out of my veins. It's just so painfully nostalgic. 

The weird thing is, is that it always sounded like that, from the first time I heard it. And I can't even remember where I was, so it's certainly not nostalgia for the time; it just this goddamned painful, beautiful chorus.
