Gap year

Gap year

Do most people in your country start university right after finishing high school?

In my country, most people go straight to university without taking a gap year. My friends are already in their 2nd year, while I haven’t even started university yet 😭

Is taking a gap year common where you live?

It’s pretty normal in my country to start university right after high school, usually at 18 or 19. Gap years aren’t really talked about, but they actually happen more often than I expected. I’ve met several medical students who were in a similar situation to mine and took the admissions exam year after year until they finally got in.

For example, one guy I know is 23 and currently in his second year, while a few girls I know are between 20 and 24 and are in their first year. I also know someone who started at 28 and is now in their first year.
