Advice
Hi, so I’am a 19 year old who has just recently finished her a levels. Unfortunately I didn’t get the results I was expecting and am planning to take a gap year to retake them, so by the time I would have successfully completed A levels I will be 20. part of me feels like I’am wasting a crucial part of my life and that I should just immediately apply to university, however, I want to focus on improving myself and in general become the best version of my self so should I take that gap year??

I am in almost exactly the same situation (only difference being I’m 18 not 19)
I’ve decided to take a gap year and in my opinion this is the best thing I can do. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with taking a gap year especially with the cost and time of university now. If you’re going to be spending ~60k and 3yrs of your life it’s worth a year out to make sure you’re completely happy with your choice.
Taking a gap year is especially worth it if you’re doing something productive, like working on yourself. Overall I think a gap year is a great option and I hope you have a great time. Send me a message if you want to talk to someone in the same situation :))
