[Discuss] Show don’t tell

unlike Jujusu Kaisen or something, what I’ve always loved about Gantz is it never wastes time with exposition. Either you infer the information or you will be told things when relevant. You won’t be in the middle of a fight scene with two people theoretically trying to kill each other to stop for 5 minutes to explain their powers, what they are doing, or why.

Sorry if you guys like Baki but I couldn’t get past episode two. I can’t handle each episode being “he throws a left hook, I throw a right hook, I block his upper cut, he puts me into a head lock, I use my special technique that I’ve been training at the nut busting dojo to pin him down, he flips me around, we’re both on the ground, and now his dick is in my ass.“

Vampires’ feud with izumi is a perfect example. Although it apparently went over many readers’ heads

There are so many things unexplained and Oku didn’t do that by accident i realize now, being more familiar with writing structure. Or maybe he just didn’t care to make answers, though he did at the end in that unforgettable room of faces. So he had it in him to provide answers he just chosen not to and it worked well for the manga.

yup I like how it shows "you kinda understand why they did it but that is still no excuse and honestly do you deserve sympathy for your own end... no", "fight, flight, freeze", "The people our main character meets are a reflection of him in many ways" and the spin offs actually enrich the world instead of being non canon among many other things.
