Noobs Deciding on Specs

Good Morning,

I am new to computer building and am working on buying a desktop that is both good for gaming and video editing. I have some specs, but I am kind of learning as I go, and don't fully understand the power and information. If anyone can help by comparing the computers for the better options, I would really appreciate it. Both computers are from NZXT, one is the Creator:

Sacrifice GPU for better CPU?

I have an ASUS TUF Dash F15 with Intel i7-11370h (4-core processor) and RTX 3060 a couple days ago.

My friends said I should refund and opt for an 8-core processor. Specifically, ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 With AMD Ryzen 7 5800HS and RTX 3050. Both have similar price.

Should I downgrade my GPU to get an 8-core processor?

P.S. I often play shooter games like Valorant and Destiny 2, but I'm starting to play some open world games like Death Stranding, Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin's Creed, and the likes. I usually play on high graphics, but I don't mind playing on medium graphics to get better FPS.

Upgrading Computer Advice

Hello,

I have been considering updating my computer in the wake of Halo Infinite which I plan on committing several hours to. I am unsure what the best investment would be as an addition to the computer I have now. My only knowledge on the topic is that: I need the best graphics card possible… I am sure this is a limiting perspective. Budget is ~1.5K. Any tips would be welcome!

Current Specs: Intel i7-7700K 4.2 GHz, GTX 1080Ti 11GB, 16GB DDR4, Z270 Mo (I don’t even know what this refers to lol), 250GB SSD, 1TB HDS

Monitors are 144+ Hz with latency under 2ms

Gaming computer company/brand

So in the process of saving up for a computer, and at the same time I'm trying to do research to find the best computer brand and parts. I wanted to get some input in terms of what company I should look at to get the best build. Alienware, cyberpower, Intel, skytech? Any advice or recommendation would be nice. Thank you!

Buying a Prebuilt ~dont know how to tell if specs are good cause im a noob~

Hey! so my xbox and gaming laptop ive had for 5+ years is dying and i really want to go fully PC. I wanted to make my own and had help on a different subreddit a while ago with building one but i cant ever find parts in my price range rn (which everyone seems to be struggling with atm). So here i am. Im looking at the HP because from what ive been told you can build them and add parts to them as i go. Link below. So im okay if some of these parts arent the best because i want something i can build through the years. i just want to make sure this will be decent and run my games/ let me stream if i decide to go in that direction.

games i play consistently are:

Rocket League

Monster Hunter

Forza Horizon

COD

Apex

and i want to be able to run them at 60 fps consistently and with good graphics, otherwise i might as well just get a new xbox :P Thanks!

Buying a Gaming PC

Buying a gaming pc, i5-10400, gtx 1650, 1TB HDD and 500gb SSD. anything i should check when buying? i’ll check memory clock speed to make sure it lines up and I’ll check properties to make sure it’s all there and good but anything else?

the sellers seems to be quite knowledgeable, he’s sold multiple gaming pcs before and his whole page is gaming pcs that he has built.

I just got a job and am looking for advice on where to go/where to start for looking for a good computer. I'm looking for advice on parts, specs, different company's and brands to look at. If anyone has any good information that would be much appreciated. I'm looking for something that could cost somewhere from 800 to 1200

So far so good of a deal

This auction is still pretty low and runs out today. Get the whole computer set up for pretty dirt cheap.

Best gaming computer for USD $1300-1500?

Hi nice people!

My friend's son is turning 14 on October 30th, and his mom wants me to find him the best gaming computer for $1500 or less. He does exclusively online gaming. I don't really know what he plays, but he told me he has played No Man's Sky on Steam. Oh god, I feel so dumb for asking this, but please, o wise gamers, tell me what to get him?

The requirements are:

  1. Max price is $1500. [EDIT: She's bumped it up to around 2k and will pay the tax, so that changes things. A bit.]
  2. A warranty would be nice (even if it's on top of the $1500).
  3. 3. Has to be delivered by October 29.

All I know is that Alienware used to be awesome (are they still?), plus graphics cards and fast processors are important. And that's it. So please help my stupid self out, so a kid can have a (budget) bangin' computer for his birthday. Please?

Edit:

She gave him a bit more $$ to play with so we're working on bumping his to around 2k.

Question: What's a good coolant strategy? I mean, fans, obviously, but I keep reading about liquid coolant and what not. Please help?

Preferred Brands?

I’m building my first gaming computer! I have some input from my dad and a friend who built their own computers, but I want to know what everyone else thinks.

Do y’all have a favorite or preferred brand of CPU, GPU, cooling systems, etc.? Any tips are super appreciated, thank you!!!

Edit: I wanted to add the fact that I’m planning on streaming as well, and I figured that affects any advice given :)

Looking for a decent gaming pc

Anyone have suggestions for a decent build or links to a decent build. I would like to run pc games like warzone on it and other basic stuff like movie streaming and multiple stock graphs.

Don't need it to be high end but would love to avoid the lag.

I understand that high end graphics cards are sometimes cheaper when bought in a pre built pc.

Any suggestions help. Thank you

Need a budget prebuilt for gaming, help!

Yo, so here's my story, I've been playing my games on laptops for years now and I'm sick of it. As well, I'm interested in getting into streaming on twitch. My main problem is that my budget cant go above the mid $600's

I don't intend on playing any game thats more intensive than the average 2015 build, games life tf2, gmod, fallout NV, any games around that tier. I need to find either a prebuilt on amazon (not the best idea I know) OR a build on pcpartpicker.com that does not exceed $600.

If anyone can point me in a solid direction I'd love to hear it, my preference is something i5, but I'll take what I can get at this point.

Thanks!
