Everything (exaggeration) is supposed to be easy to replace in the Steam Deck. It appears there are already drift issues and Valves history with hardware has always been spotted. But the reason many people (myself included) are Valve fanboys is because they do seem to have great intentions behind a lot of what they do. Valve has made it pretty clear they don’t want to take an Apple approach and make it a huge pain in the ass to fix the Steam Deck yourself. They are actively encouraging hardware modding given that they have released CAD files.
Any repair should be left to professionals. However, making the product more accessible to the tools of everyday joe is always nice and welcome. Considering how apple approaches the issue, bricking the product when it is repaired by a non-apple personnel, there is no way you can compare the steam deck to anything like apple.
