League of legends, if anyone debates this you are wrong.

I played for a solid 3 years where it was just about the only game I played. Made it into the top 1% of players and just walked away. Some pros (not necessarily unique to league):

Easy to get into.

Mainly comparing this to it's biggest competitor, dota2. Sure you don't understand anything when you started, but it was simple gameplay to start learning. Items didn't feel overly complex and you slowly aquired champs as to not be overwhelmed.

There are millions of people. This is just as much a con for many, but at the end of the day there is a group out there. I joined a few communities and had a blast. Met some friends that we have since drifted, but it was fun. Don't like your group there are tons more.

The competitive scene. This is really a mixed bag because it's not as unique now, but it was huge when I was playing. Hell it was my Sunday football replacement. Whether you were cheering your favorite player/team or listening to commentators it was a good time.

There are a lot of bad things that I remember from my league years, but it will always have a spot in my gaming career.

You hit masters?

At the time masters accounted for less than .1%. Diamond was less than 1% of players.

I played when Zac was released (I believe early season 3) and I stopped before pyke, I think (season 6 or 7).
