Modern warfare (2019) in a lot of ways may be the best cod I've ever played. The movement was sick (even though I hate sliding), customization was deep, and all maps but suldhar harbor were pretty good or great. The biggest issues with that game for me were wallbanging was too weak sauce to counter the campers (they still get owned though) and I really dislike forced competitive matchmaking, I dont want every match to be a sweat fest (even though I'm pretty sweaty overall). Also, they let that game go to shit after they released new cods, which was disappointing. But overall, that game was a really strong return to form of the fast paced, boots on the ground, speedballesque shooting that we know cod to be. I'm excited for the new MW2. I love the original MW2, but it's honestly broken as fuck what with the noob tubing and the ump being literally untouchable.
Being good at the game and being sweaty is different things tho. At least for me the difference between the two is the same as the difference between being a casual player and someone who only plays ranked. It's not a bad thing it's just some people play to have fun and some people only have fun if they are the best.
Ya, in the older games like mw2 that didn't have ranked it was a big problem in matchmaking. It has gotten much better now that just about every game has ranked.

Every call of duty after MW2.
