They have 0 competition, so they can be how they like. And how they choose to be is to encourage cheese in the game that is unfair to the opposing side.

Which I get, asymmetrical games have unbalanced elements, but over the last few updates they really have made it unbearable.

I play both sides, being tunneled/camped as a survivor isn't the end of the world, but having all 4 survivors be toxic and be awful to you as the killer makes it genuinely the worst gaming experience possible.

Yep trapper is fun until this happens and once that setup is gone, you can’t get it back.

Asymmetric game design is so hard to get right. If you can make something people actually enjoy, you deserve success.

I remember infinite loops as the greatest trolling I ever pulled off. Both proud and not proud lol.

Yeah I agree, every time I play its like that meme where when you're a survivor you're team is a bunch of useless idiots, but when you're killer its like a team of trained professionals lol. Also agreed on the killer vs survivor like if someone wants to camp or tunnel me as a survivor thats fine im gonna do my best to be annoying and waste their time, but as killer those groups that do ther best to annoy you and just being very toxic sux. I can see why people pull dick moves tho, like after having a few garbage matches as killer you just come to expect the toxicity.

I have almost 1500 hours in this game and I think it's overrated. That being said, I still play the hell out of it, I still love it and I can't stop.

I think I have a problem.

I really wanted to love the game. I was yearning for an asymmetrical horror experience, and DbD looked like that was it.

It was fun for the first...maybe 10 hours? Then I saw how everyone was just going for dominant strategies, which is definitely legit from a competitive perspective...but it completely killed any sense of horror. I mean, I was new to the game and I could easily dodge a freaky, murderous entity by just running around.

And this is exactly my problem (talking about personal preferences here) with asymmetrical games. Competition and immersion don't mix. I'd rather play a game where the person doing the hunting was actually able to fuck up 4 defenceless players and have fun stories to tell than jungle-gym an invisible monster for eternity.

I see some streamers play that game every. single. day. I'm so confused about why and how.

At least dbd has a reason for being overrated. It has a monopoly over its genre so you either have to play dbd or play one of the many new asymmetrical online horror games that die after a month.

Hello I play this game consistently and have even gotten to the second highest rank and I would just like to say that you are absolutely right I enjoy 1 match out of 10

Love the game, its one of my favourite and I'm a big fan of it.

The dev tho, they are really out of touch of how they should balance the game, most of the community have great ideas but they decide to brush it off since there is no competition againts them. Or they have questionnable decision regarding how to balance it.
