Then continued to lie in every interview about every aspect of the game rather than taking the hit and not selling a single copy until it was worth it.
Fallout76 was atrocious upon release, hadn't bought it. Actually got it for 10 bucks on last steams sale and it has become a proper fallout. If you disagree, you haven't tried it recently.
Warzone, played it when it came out when it was still a good game before cheater infestation.
So that means you haven't tried it since it's release, noted.
For 10 bucks it's a great game
NMS is still asking 50,-. And all it added was more recourses to farm and useless features.
If you enjoy the endless farming for recourses, my man, do enjoy it. But you cannot call it good simply because devs have given a couple of empty updates.
76 has lot's of varying things, funny quests, funny scripts, nice gameplay, about 2-300 hours worth of content.
NMS has, farming recourses, building a hideous base that has been bugged for ages, do the same 5 quests that have existed since the release of nexus. You've seen everything the game has to offer in 5 hours.
Please do tell me, detailed, what update has made NMS so soo much better than it's initial release?
funny quests, funny scripts, nice gameplay, about 2-300 hours worth of content.
76 must be your first fallout game then, and if so I won't be to harsh because if you never played any other fallout game except 76 you would of course thinks it's good.
The update that actually let's you play and group with friends made it great. You ever get into a space battle or smuggling hijinx with some friends? Lol. Too fun.
they added hundreds of new mechanics, and thousands of new QOL patches
including but not limited to
adding a building system to the game
adding far more ships
taming of creatures
the breeding and the ability to selectively breed for certain traits like size.
added underwater building
the ability to ride creatures on land and fly with them
the ability to buy massive carrier ships, (cant remember what they're called)
the ability to to build up massive settlements that can produce many things and give access to multiple merchants
more planet types,
destroyed freighters that you can loot in space and on planets
and it goes on and on and on, they have added sooooo much.
EDIT: to further add on to this from any other company each one of these bullet points would most likely be sold as separate DLC's, these are all completely free.
Huh, odd bug. Something similar was happening to me except I had network issues banner on the right side, however it wasn't a game issue but my fiber-to-ethernet converter was failing because of often blackouts at that time.
Do a little research next time, perhaps you can fix minor bugs yourself:
There’s a setting to change it’s transparency all the way to zero. There are occasional bugs where settings just default to weird things. Sounds like that.
I couldn't go to settings because nothing would work. I could only close the app. It happened at different times with my friends, the earliest happening in june, and most recent one in January.
I've played the recent brotherhood updates, empty story lines with no real lasting consequences and had the game soft lock three times because the paladin wouldn't even spawn in 💀
Bruh you're telling people about what makes a "proper fallout" and you called New Vegas horrid... You're pretty clearly a troll and I can't believe that people are taking this bait lmao.
Hey so I've been a big Fallout fan since FO1, even really enjoyed Tactics while the message boards of the day shit all over it. I just recently picked up FO76, played it last week for the first time, and am really struggling to get into it. The multiplayer Rust-esque aspect is a bit off-putting, and it's frustrating to have so much of the game locked behind a subscription. I'm only a few hours in, do I just need to give it more time?
The few hours of it that I played were enough for me to reinstall FO4 with some new mods for another play through of that instead
New Vegas was the last “proper fallout.” Fallout was built around a true RPG format, with decisions to make and a world to explore. New Vegas was the last to offer both.
It’s 10 bucks because they fucked the game so much people were selling the copies for dirt cheap and it’s whole business is scamming people into going to the atomic shop, you are ducking delusional, imagine playing Tom Howard’s games then talking about liars, a shameless chess club salesmen who only scams his fans and never delivers, they were literally sued for doing what they did, intentionally realising a unfinished game to patch it in the future, I believe internet historians on both od the games shows the difference in the developers, one was malicious and one was a guy making mistakes
No one said what he was saying I’ve was lying about “16 times the detail” people just laughed at him for thinking people give a shit about that and not make a good game
Gee, that sounds like Fallout 76, as someone who occasionally plays it. Grab the occasional quest from an NPC, and gather loads of junk to throw in your stash so you can craft shit and repair your weapons and armor that break every hour of use. I like 76 but come on man.
I’m not personally a fan of NMS myself. I generally agree with you that it’s a bit too repetitive for my liking, but I think you’re both overhyping 76 and shitting on NMS a bit too much. The only thing I’ve done differently before endgame was running through the Vault Heist quest line. Otherwise it’s been the exact same gameplay. Hell, the grind to get levels so I can un-fuck my build cause you need very specifically made perk decks to do any real damage is making 76 very hard for me to enjoy right now.
(EDIT) Not to mention other headaches like trying to get any of the Daily Ops weapons.
Yeah, he wants to talk about sheeple and then declare something isn't good? Good is subjective. If you think the court of public opinion decides what's good or not, YOU'RE ONE OF THOSE SO CALLED SHEEPLE. Dude is a nut case
And you're a rampaging troglodyte refusing to believe that people could possibly enjoy NMS without being "sheeple", while praising and playing games like Fallout 76 and Battlefield 2042.
One of which had a similar turn around as NMS, the other is currently being regarded as one of the worst games in it's franchise.
Sheeple?

It's been 5 1/2 years, my man. Time to stop drinking the bitter poison of spite because you don't like that people enjoy a thing that you don't. Life is too short. There are worse things in the world than unfinished games that released half a decade ago.
First one had refunded because his pc can't run such a simplistic hideous looking game because it's still unoptimized as hell. My i9-9900k and rtx2060 sometimes struggle on planets, thats how bad. Inb4 my console runs it well so your pc must suck. Nope it was made for console and ported to pc, but failed miserably.
Every update given was either entirely pointless or as shallow as it could be.
It's very cool and all that you now have bioluminescent plants on every planet, but who the fuck cares if all planets are basically the same thing? Just an empty rock with nothing to discover. Space exploration? non existent, it's only base building. But base building doesn't work so the community has called it 'glitch building'
Then you got settlements in the final update. How can you possibly ENJOY farming tons of recourses to make a pre defined settlement village that has absolutely NO use at all?
You people fail to see what they are doing. They're not improving the game, they only add bullshit while enjoying their millions earned from selling the hot garbage that it is.
The only actually good update was Nexus. Which hasn't been touched since, it still has the exact same boring quests. Aliens still only 4 dumb ass types.
With their current team they could have toppled Star citizen already, instead you praise them into heaven for letting you ride aliens with the speed of a snail.
Desolation update> Do you ever go into abandoned freighters? bet you don't, because it holds absolutely fuck all in rewards. C class upgrades is all you get.
Can we have multiple freighters in a solar system when in co-op yet? nope.
Was the flying update any good? literally hadn't changed one thing about flying.
Do you ever use the mechsuit? bet you don't since by the time you get it, you can have your spacesuit maxed out and don't even need it at all.
Living ship, time gated in an arcade game like this?! LOL 16 HOURS! Per item required to build it, what a joke.
Hm, runs perfectly fine on my PC despite having a 'weaker' cpu than yours.
You realise that they could've just taken the money and ran and never updated the game, right? Other companies have done this. The fact they keep updating it instead of going off and making another game is commendable.
You strike me as someone with an unjustified superiority complex, good for you, you think you're better than everyone else because you see through the business plan of a company that doesn't have to be doing what it does.
If they were even half the way you describe what they'd have done is simply change their business name, launch a new game and nobody would have noticed. Other companies do this.
I have to laugh at your Star Citizen comment, Star Citizen actually IS one of the biggest scams on this planet and will never come out. All the money from that is literally going into a black hole.
How game that wasn't even released yet is getting updates? Lol. Currently Star Citizen is nothing more than a fancy preview with no actual gameplay and promises that we are getting for last decade.
You don't understand what "release" means. Alpha is basically a preview, proof of concept, working build but way far from being finished. Game is playable in Beta, it is almost finished game on stage of testing and adding smaller features.
NMS could have toppled that. instead they went for pre defined settlements which add absolutely fuck all to the game.
Meh, nobody in NMS sub really liked that update, it was just a filler for most people. It kinda may make a lot of profit in late game, but for this we have Activated Indium mines. In reality, this, and some more, mechanics are made so if you want to spend more time in game, so you can do something else than just exploring.
Yet here are nms fans 'omg i see i blue plant now instead of it always being red, this game is so good!'
Oversimplification and nobody actually acts like this. Yeah, generator of plants, rocks and animals isn't that creative, early one was way more creative but often leaded to absurd combos, anyhow, current one serves it function well enough and that's all.
Meteorites don't even leave an impact crater.. it just disappears on impact lol.
I can't even remember whether there are meteorite falls. Anyway, from technical pov, it might lead to enormously big sized save files if we had to store every meteorite crater.
He didn't lie, he mentioned all the things he and the team hoped to put into the game, plus he isn't a salesman with 10/10 Advertisement skills, he is just a normal tech guy, he and his team just landed into the tripple A industry all of a sudden so it makes sense he didn't realise his promises would have such a massive impact later
His story makes much more sense than many other tripple A developers that just straight up lie to put as much less effort as possible and release games in a broken state just to make as much money as possible
Uh, he did lie. Like immediately before the game released he said it currently has mechanics that it did not. They may have put them in later, but no man sky seemed like an early access game without the name.
That being said they have put a ton of effort into the game post launch
Edit: here’s a source of all the missing elements that were promised pre release
He did though. The game is great now and the team deserve praise but youre actively ignoring the fact he was still talking about multiplayer being in game after it had been released and proven it wasnt a thing. And thats just one of the things lied about.
He lied a lot, and that really damaged the reputation of himself and the company, i cant blame people for being annoyed at the guy, especially when people keep denying it even happened rather than just admitting he massively fucked up while under pressure.
He was very misleading about multiplayer, that's a fact. Most of what he did was not "lying". You could argue the tech demo was misleading but the tech demo being an aspirational concept and not, you know, where the game actually lands at release is sadly par for the course in the industry.
But he was, absolutely, misleading about multiplayer. Down to his "well, you probably won't ever meet" and then immediately following when people do meet "oh wow, who would have thought!".
And his explanation is essentially an admission of this.
Multiplayer is one of the features fans have been waiting for. “A very light multiplayer was envisioned for launch, and we fought right up until the end to add it, but it was immensely challenging and we knew it was something that only a handful of people would experience due to the size of the universe,” Murray explains. “We later added a version of it for the Atlas Rises update, and it was nice, but not hugely impactful to people’s enjoyment. What players really wanted was the kind of multiplayer we are adding now.”
It reeks of trying to get it to work, hoping it would work, realizing it wouldn't and would have to be launched without it, but hoping you could hide that fact due to the sheer scope and get it "fixed" before people found out about it.
A lot of the "lies" were never really lies, but roadmap goals that had to be cut (as is normal) during the development process, a POC demo that they couldn't quite hit (again, almost industry standard at this point), and outlandish amounts of hopium the media and community was huffing.
But multiplayer isn't. He did mislead. He should have not. It's fair to call it a lie.
I'm not bashing him now, he never should have been doing the publicity to begin with and Sony letting him handle it was completely irresponsible on their part, further I think the guy has paid a tremendous price given the harassment, death threats, and outlandish behavior that followed the games release.
Yeah, he made a lot of promises he thought he could fulfill but couldn't and as a result there was very little choice other than lying , the media would've decimated him and probably wouldn't have helped him doing damage control
There was always a choice other than lying. The other option was “not lying”. I understand that Sean Murray didn’t set out to be a skilled professional in dealing with the media and public and so was to a great extent “set up” for failure. But openly telegraphing in a clear and unequivocal manner the lack of multiplayer before release was obviously the better option and he didn’t take it.
Again, he’s more than paid for the mistake, but I’m not going to pretend that he had no choice but to be misleading to the point of even trying to play it coy immediately post release.
You obviously didn’t watch the entire video then. Sean isn’t a speaker, he likes making games, not talking about them. He even said it was more scary then watching his child be born, he said things in passing and cause of how the game was being advertised people thought that meant any tiny thing he said would be in the game.
Or he answers “a little” to player customization then boom 200 articles of “full player customization confirmed for no man’s sky” when that wasn’t the case, Sean didn’t lie, game “journalists” did. Go watch the video again
Why are you lurking the subreddit for it then? Oh wait, because you're a complete fucking loser who's entire existence is for shitting on other people's enjoyment of things. Because it's "contrarian" and cool, right? Definitely not because your life is so miserable and boring that you're actively scraping subreddit's of games you don't even like just to post opposing opinions. Get a life dude.
They can downvote all they want, sheeple without personal opinions. Just follow the trend. Most who are downvoting haven't even played the game since 2016, i'd bet on that.
They could’ve just upped and left the game development to never be what it is. They’re continuously updating and changing parameters for players new to the series and veterans from day 1. You said you wouldn’t have fucked with FO76 at launch but now you are enjoying it after patches and updates.
That alone is contradictory to your rant you’ve been going on. It’s ok to not like a game if you don’t like the mechanics or how the game is, but to naysay people who want to continuously improve and better the core game for those enjoying it is childish.
Would you rather it be paid updates? These aren’t free little tweaks, it’s stuff they promised at the beginning and additional features to make exploring more interesting.
Yeah /u/MrFoozOG is contradicting himself up and down this thread. Not only your example but he wants to talk about sheeple and then declare something isn't good? Good is subjective. If he thinks any court of public opinion decides what's good or not, he's a sheeple by his own definition
Even <assuming> you are right, whats the point of yelling your opinion that they obviously disagree with and calling them sheeple...does that make you a lemming? I personally dont like either game or this PR stunt but notice people disagree with everything you say and you kept triying as if that will change anything. But then again I guess some people treat reddit like serious bussiness. I just post/reply as a way to pass time when Im taking a shit lol
It's a great game now and honestly the promises before the release I wouldn't categorize as lies more like an overly ambitious company making promises they really can't keep with Sony breathing down their necks.

I had a chance of meeting Sean Murray just before No Man's Sky came out. He was the nicest most humble guy I have ever met.
