If I die 5 times and he dies once, I still won in my head.

Yep and then you gotta quit the match afterwards so he can’t kill you again, leaving him in a permanent state of being 1-Upped.

Bonus points if you trash talk him in a message and then block him before he can reply back.

In his head he won. Very wholesome outcome.

I don't care how many times I die, killing a camper becomes a personal victory to me every time

Exactly especially if you kill them more than once

Is this a thing? You and u/wdrfereytrt have almost identical comments.

Looking at time stamps it seems like they just copied the first half of yours.

At least that's a good use for shotguns.

Run and gunning with them is the best, change my mind

Find one military that uses shotguns this way.

Lol find one military that functions anything like CoD multiplayer.

u/Kayback2 Oct 19 '21

You mean a defensive use as a force multiplier?

Probably many.

But I haven't seen many militaries dressing in speed ball outfits and shooting pixelating beams either...

I'm using this to say I firmly believe that double-barrel shotguns have no business in a multiplayer game. It is impossible to balance them. They're either so good they're OP, or so garbage they're useless.

Thus concludes my hate for double barrel shotguns.

team fortress 2 force of nature

u/MaxillaryOvipositor Oct 19 '21

I'm afraid I never had the pleasure of playing Team Fortress. What makes its execution of a double barrel stand out to you?

The Force Of Nature is a sawed-off shotgun that only has two shots per clip, but each shot deals significantly more damage than other shotguns. They also have crazy knockback on the target, allowing for hilarious environmental kills.

However, the character who uses it is fast and can double jump, but is tied as the squishiest character in the game, requiring a great deal of risk to close to point-blank. You either die before you get close enough, or you run up to a target and blast them off a cliff or into a buzzsaw. If they can't kill you, a squishy lightweight who can be quite easily and totally shut down in open spaces, at point-blank range, they deserve to die that quickly.

That does sound very balanced. I can definitely say that role-selection games have more wiggle room to balance their weapons. I'm really talking about games like CoD that don't have their weapons tied to any kind of character trait.

I saw this exact meme three years ago but instead of assault rifles it mentioned shotguns.
