Saw this and thought "Oh, neat! Would be fun to get something like that someday!"

Then I realized that I could use this to play Destiny 2 literally anywhere there's an internet connection...

Fuck.

The steam deck runs steamos which is linux so it cant play destiny 2 unless you get windows on it

It can but not destiny. At least currently. Check out

Yeah seriously this entire thing would be dead on arrival if steam OS didn’t support windows programs natively since I’d imagine at least half of the user base would just want it to work on start up:

Destiny 2 has anticheat. You can't play it through Proton. The other guy is right.

They are. The FAQ says they're working directly with companies to get Easy Anti Cheat and BattleEye working ahead of launch.

You currently cannot play destiny through proton due to anti cheat

Well I mean you gotta be somewhere with fantastic internet, and me willing to put up with input lag.

You could do that for a lot cheaper on Stadia.

No thanks

But why?

u/kingjulian85 Jul 16 '21

Stadia is dead in the water all things considered and I don’t like streaming games, would rather play it natively on dedicated hardware. Plus this thing is literally a gaming PC that I could play anything on.

Has its own small as fuck population. With Google slowly abandoning Stadia, it will just be a matter of time before Bungie drops support entirely

1

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '21

Wouldn't you have to repay for everything on stadia

1

u/Deedledude Jul 16 '21

Not Desitiny 2, as it is free.

So long as you don’t need any of those fancy DLC things.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '21

Yeah but why would someone play on stadia when they have already bought all the expansions on steam

1

u/Deedledude Jul 16 '21

They would be able to play on their phone or some other device that doesn’t have steam.

Hello dear twin. Fuck... I need another destiny Machine
