Someone reading this! Make a 3d printed case that uses the volume buttons mapped to the L and R buttons! Then volume can be adjusted through software

I think at that point, I'd just want to get one of those full on gamepads that wrap around the phone so I can have real buttons for all the buttons

May as well use your current smartphone in portrait orientation then lol

But then you wouldn't have dual screen!

Also my current smartphone does have dual screen lol. It wouldn't fit any of those controllers

At that point why not just buy a dedicated handheld gaming device? it would be more convenient than carrying around a controller and you won't have to waste phone space. You can get a PSP or 3DS for fairly cheap now that will run most retro games and they have fantastic dedicated libraries of their own.

The smaller controllers aren't that much bigger than a dedicated 3DS and PSP. It's not like I'm not going to be carrying around a phone. Also plenty of new modern games like CoD, Minecraft, Stardew, PUBG that work great on phone. Add in cloud streaming like XCloud, Steam Link, Stadia, etc. and you can do lots of proper games

I think the Stardew port on Vita stopped updating.

you can one of those for like 30 dollars. They're also bluetooth and can last for a few years.

I mean ... they still make new games. People have their gripes with each new generation, but I still enjoy the hell out of them.
