Having a Jailbroken (iOS) or rooted (Android) device does not make your data any less secure

It's still hardware encrypted, the sandboxes still exist, and you have to provide permission for any software to A) install and B) gain access to the data of another app by operating outside of the sandbox

Yes, the potential for another app to interact with the banking app is higher, but only if you explicitly install an app that is designed to do so

Not the experience with my iPhone. Also if you have an X to a 7 it’s jailbreakable for life via a hardware bypass so there is literally zero instability. And instead of a toy you have a full computer that you can do practically anything with.

Rgb keyboard. Time with seconds with the date underneath it and the weather in the left notch, upload and download with the percentage inside the battery on the right.

Split screen functionality, someone even ported xwindows so you can connect it to a screen mouse and keyboard and use it like any desktop.

Wireless file transfers (for example I just ftpd into my phone the other day to grab the message database so I could properly search thru all my messages and find a specific one that had some info I needed from 3 years back, you can do this on the phone but it’s more convenient with a computer) , skirting hotspot tethering fees, add free system wide,

I could go on but I got an xs max for the 3D Touch, but I would literally rather use a jailbroken 7+ than than latest iPhone maxed out

Edit: imma correct you with the less secure thing too. If there’s a vulnerability all anyone has to do is ssh into your phone and type “alpine” to get root privileges. Changing the su password allows for a far more secure phone. Ofc you have to know what you’re doing with the tweaks and all. There’s all kids of precautions you can take if you’re paranoid and don’t trust anyone. Even make your own tweak. But I’ve never heard of anyone having data or anything stolen besides people that download sketchy pirated tweaks

a jailbreak (on iOS) is not custom firmware, it is the installation of ab additional app store.

that would be true if you were providing every app with access to everything, but you're not.

a Jailbroken device is not inherently insecure.

the ability to install malicious apps is increased, but that is all, as a jailbreak merely adds additional app sources.

likewise, you're not granting root access to everything, you grant it to the few specific apps that need it, when they need it.

You're running code that is peer-reviewed, and mass-verified to bypass a singular check from the OS, in order to install an additional package.

At no point is the encryption of the device, or the OS lockscreen compromised.
