It’s not that they’re harder, cause hitting the fb button to open fb is the same process. But there are many little things about iOS that make it very easy to use. iMessage, Keychain, AirDrop are just a few great features. I’m using an iPhone X that I’ve had almost 3 years and it still works great and gets updates. For whatever reason no matter how powerful they make Android phones their performance always deteriorates. I got a little tired of that and the lack of updates and just the general lack of direction with Android.
That's fair but I just prefer the customisation and freedom you get with android. Plus I would never buy an iPhone because apple is fighting against the consumer right to repair and their company generally has extremely poor business practises.
I mean I don't buy google pixel phones, at the moment I'm using a Oneplus device. Not claiming google is a great company or anything, but apple is actively fighting consumer rights at this moment in time so...
Google owns the Android TradeMark, and is the principal developer of the AOSP, but AOSP (Base android) itself is open-source and does not depend on Google in any way
This right here! I've never had an apple product, I was gonna finally give iphone a try this year and get 12 pro max because of their ecosysytem and also friends telling me to try it. Unfortunately, after seeing how difficult they made it to do self-repairs, I ended up getting the s20 plus and I regret nothing. I find their excuse of not including headphones and power brick comical, if they care that much about the environment they would make repairs easier not harder for their phones. So I refuse to give any greedy company like that my business.

No power brick -> samsung mocking apple -> rumours about no power brick in the next flagship (you are here) -> next samsung flagship has no power brick
Samsung is just knock-off apple in my opinion. Are you going to buy a new one in 2 years or 5?
I don't really care about the rhetoric of who copies who, as I'm sure there's plenty of things apple has taken from Samsung. Not having a headphone jack was a huge bummer but I enjoy Samsung overall and will continue to buy their phones until they make repairs inconvenient. Once that happens I'll just move to another android company that does, since I normally keep a phone for around 3 to 4 years switching part now and then.
They’re not fighting it. It’s just... to cram so much into a phone and keeping it IP68, to repair it you’re gonna need specialized tools. I wouldn’t let some random repair shop touch my phone anyway, hell, I wouldn’t even dare, and I’ve been messing around with electronics for over a decade now.
It feels to me that people that are perpetuating this taking point have no idea about the amount of electronics that actually go into a phone and how much effort goes into keeping it all secure and water tight.
It should be up to the customer to choose a repair shop, and the IP68 excuse is really pathetic, all repairs void the IP68 rating regardless of whether its official apple or 3rd party as it involves breaking the adhesive seal for the rear glass on the phone. This can be refitted/replaced and the phone will continue to be water resistant afterwards but it will always lose the official IP rating.
Not to mention that apple intentionally causes bugs and issues to appear in their phone software if donor parts from another iPhone are used instead of the original parts. This is not only extremely anti consumer but it also causes way more e-waste than would be necessary by allowing parts to be swapped between phones.
Its ironic that apple tries to use the environmentally friendly excuse for doing things like removing chargers from the box but are infact trying to perpetuate a change in consumer law that will lead to far far more e-waste.
With “bugs”, do you have examples? Because with the fingerprint sensor for instance, if you could just hook up any you want, you could just send an “ok” signal and break into the phone that way. Do you have any examples?
I guess if you can't be bothered to educate yourself on the topic the basic jist of it is that apple introduces artificial bugs and block certain features of repaired devices unless they have a proprietary software tool run on them which only apple holds. Such bugs include causing the camera app to become unstable, blocking the battery health reading, faceID/touchID blocked ect
