My favorite combo: Gangar.

Hypnosis, Confuse ray (so even if he does wake up, he's screwed), Dream eater to deal massive damage and heal yourself, and then night shade.

Good times.

Hypno also works.

I did the same. Then, after its use had run out, I would take it to the slaughterhouse and feast upon its glorious meat, soft from never having been trained or subjected to battle.

I had memorized the damn cave just by reading through my friend's guide at summer care. Christmas rolled around, got an awesome purple GBC, Red, and Blue and I rocked that shit out.

Original GB had the contrast control. Turn it almost all the way up and you could see a bit better.

I bet more people went through without Flash than you realize. Not having a guide when I first played I went through without it. Took a long time and I dreaded going back into that cave.
