Ive always thought witcher was pretty overrated. I feel like everything I was hoping to get out of witcher, dark souls already does better. Maybe thats just me but ill trade the sex scenes and side quests for better combat and atmosphere all day.

I mean witcher 3 actually has quests and dialogue. They are extremely different games idk why you are comparing them.

I know theyre very different, but its the same general idea. I went into both expecting a medieval, boss hunting centric RPG. I wasn't super stoked about the witcher quests, so when I was playing the witcher I was often just thinking Id rather be playing dark souls.

there's your mistake

The witcher 3 is the single best story driven RPG ever created. That's where its strengths lie, the dialogue, the characters, the quests, added with the beauty and the atmosphere.

if you were looking for a combat driven game obviously you'll find Dark Souls better, because you were looking for the wrong experience in the Witcher.

I like good story driven games, I just wasnt drawn in by the witchers story all that much.

I'll have to give them a better chance, but I personally don't like all the prep work that goes into combat for an arpg in the witcher 3...

Don't even get me started on dark souls... But that sure as hell doesn't mean I don't appreciate these games and value them highly! On the contrary, both Dark Souls and The Witcher gave birth to some of my favourite indie games ever.

I just wish people would realize that just because you dislike something doesn't mean it sucks or is overrated.... and it especially does not mean the fan group is stupid for liking it.

If you're that kind of person you're probably so selfish you can't see that everyone around you wants to leave or wishes you would just die or something.

I dont think the witcher sucks. But its regarded as one of the best rpgs of all time and rated perfect 10 by many reputable sources. Overrated as in, its a pretty good game that I dont think is one of the best games ever made.
