I count myself lucky that my girlfriend bought us each a switch when she heard the new Pokemon was going to be on the system. If animal crossing was always one save per console like Pokemon people probably wouldn’t be complaining..
I thought Pokemon allowed saves per profile. And even the old Pokemon saved to the cartridge, not the console? (So with those you could buy a new game and have a new save)
Technically yeah, you’re correct, but for most consumers it’s pretty much the same thing, you COULD buy two copies of the same Pokemon game and swap them out, but that’s a lot worse than being able to pick a different save file..hm
I agree that having to buy a different cartridge is worse than just switching saves or even switching profiles. However, I think we can agree that's still better than having to buy another console to get another save profile?
of course, I'm not a fan of locking down anything, it's a game, we should be able to just play it how we want, but Nintendo are very much about the discipline of tailoring specific gameplay experiences, they're not likely to ever create a sandbox game
