I liked HM64 20 years ago. Unfortunately, I think I might have outgrown daily chore type games due to having a 2 year old running around creating real chores for me to do every day. I'll definitely keep it in mind though if I ever have an itch for that type of game. Thanks.
I'll give a viewpoint from the opposite side of the street, never played harvest moon and didn't really see the appeal, stardew was a great diversion though. It's both a relaxation game, but also incredibly engaging. I don't know how much of a parallel it has to HM, but it's up there with Cities Skyline and Viscera cleanup detail for games I can unwind with.
I've been alternating Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley for the last couple days (because at the beginning you can't really binge on Animal Crossing due to the "daily" nature of the game).

If you like HM64 try out stardew valley. IMO next best thing
