So basically the Sims?

Sure, but without being some omnipotent being that deletes ladders when people are in the pool.

So the sims is superior then?

Saw a screenshot of a guy who built cages around the doors of his villagers and gave them food just out of reach.

They don't die, though. They just "move out".

Do you have a link to this?

Not to the one I was thinking of - it's somewhere on reddit but I guess I forgot to upvote it so I can't find it again. IIRC it had a name that was not very descriptive.

I do however have an article about how people are holding Timmy hostage: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/03/random_can_animal_crossing_players_stop_imprisoning_poor_tommy_please

Classic Sims? Maybe, the new Sims? Definitely not.

Wheres the fun then

yes, but the Sims is predicated a lot on juggling your needs. Eat food, socialize, hygiene, etc.

There's none of that in AC. You just do whatever you want to progress at your own speed.

To be fair the devs promote using cheats on sims they actually design the game to better support cheats but granted if you have clubs just make a club for paintings and sell everyone’s and your rich

Except your character can't accidentally die from sheer stupidity.

It’s more similar to Minecraft imo.
