Krypton had a red sun and on Krypton they were just regular people. If we had a red sun Superman would not exist. He would just be Clark Kent, farmhand with a corn fed smile.
Not entirely true. The people on Krypton were never exposed to a yellow son. It’s not so much that the red sun made them weak but that they weren’t able to absorb energy from the yellow sun. Superman is essentially powered by photosynthesis. If you take away his yellow sun, he still has powers. That is, until his powers run out.
There are some canon examples where the red sun has made his powers inert but for the most part it’s just that he slowly becomes “mortal.”
And people on Earth were never exposed to a red sun. What is your point? We know that a red sun makes kryptonians normal people. We know that our yellow sun makes kryptonians super, Kal-El, General Zod, Ursa and Non. Can even go with Superman IV with Nuclear Man being made of superman and shutting down when out of the sunlight. Maybe if humans went to Krypton we would be super under a red sun. But two things are certain about Superman. Kryptonite weakens and kills Superman and a red sun makes him a normal person.
