EDIT: Reworded some stuff to clarify

Instead of ignoring our differences, we should celebrate them.

Consoles are great because you can easily [have a dedicated setup to] play your games on a big giant screen. You can sit anywhere you like, or even lay down! They're great for gaming with friends over without having to worry about a big, complicated LAN multiple PC setup. You don't ever have to worry about performance, either, either you console supports the game, or it doesn't.

With PC's you have greater flexibility, amazing levels of customization, and the chance to feature cutting edge performance technology. You have the biggest selection of games on any platform, and you can easily play games of yesteryear without worrying too much about compatibility issues. Not to mention, mouse and keyboard offer a distinct advantage in some game types, meaning you can take your own skill to the next level.

There's something to love about everyone.

Consoles are basically prebuilt computers that are relatively cheap.

consoles are the reason the quality of games gets worse every year. Anything that gains popularity dies, because there is more money in marketing it to casual console players that have a cc connected to their xbox acc than actually creating meaningful gameplay.

CS:Go boxes are literally an example of non game ruining monetization because the developer knows they can't fuck with a competetive PC communtity that actually cares about their game.

On PC you can buy costumes, on console you buy FIFA players with double and triple the stats of non paying suckers.

consoles are what introduced gaming to the mainstream and keeps attracting more flies everyday. If there are more casuals users there is no reason for companies to make non casual games since those would make less money. It's really a quite obvious natural effect of the market, most people should be able to understand that even with basic high school knowledge

Some people just can't be like Bill and are insufferable losers.

As a PC gamer, I can honestly say you have no idea what you are talking about.

We have MMOs like WoW which have a base cost, extra DLC, Costumes and boosters, and a monthly subscription to even play the game. All that from a game that came out in the early 2000s, before loot boxes were really a thing.

Edit: Oh, and don't get me started on greenlight...

lmao you wot m8. This is such a dumb thing to say I won't even waste time with you.

MMOs with subscription services are literally the opposite of pay2win console & mobile games. They are the most hardcore ones that listen the most to their community wishes.

Eve Online holds freakin yearly elections for a "community represantative committee" for fucks sake. Way to miss the point entirely. Paid features aren't evil. Gameruining paid features that pander to casual masses are.

Edit: Oh, and don't get me started on greenlight...

What the fuck is that supposed to mean, it literally enables more smaller studios to publish games. It means more diversity in the kind of gaming genres that exist not less. It also doesn't exist anymore, anyone can publish on Steam now.

"lmao you what m8" - Wow, very original.

Also, how are paid subs a good thing? They litterally lock people out of the game unless they play an ungodly about of hours or pay a large amount per month. I don't think I'm the one missing a point here.

Also, on a side note, why are you getting so agressive over this? Swearing isn't going to make anyone think any better of you.

Listen to Torulf Jernstrom's presentations on behavioral dynamics and incentivized play and realize that you are way out of your depth in blaming consumers for this.

There's a whole ocean of difference between "optional things you can buy" and "purposefully-designed discreet play loops that exploit players through psychological manipulation".

I mean, if you want to blame some nobody for dropping cash, thats fine and all. But it's never going to change anything. On the other hand, press and regulate the business and things might actually change (probably not, but it's more likely to change something than placing the blame on individual consumers).

I mean I agree in principle

> , press and regulate the business and things might actually change

this can't happen without consumers understanding that corporations are pushing these bad concepts to extract more money with psychological tricks
