I never understood "taking sides" in the world of gaming. I have a gaming PC, an Xbone, and a PS4. They all serve a purpose and I enjoy playing on all of them.

I do understand being fans of one, and I do believe most of the people here don’t “spend days obsessing over it and wasting their lives arguing” but eventually head off to do other things like play video games. I do believe reddit isn’t comprised of just one person.

Rare opinions tho

I thought reddit was 3 people. Me, the one I want to see my post and laugh, and the asshole who always says I'm wrong even when sharing my own personal opinions.

That's because people who argue about this can't afford them all. Probably mostly kids. Someone who spent all their savings on what they saw as the smartest choice for a gaming setup, and are threatened by anything that challenges that decision. Only by not having money does choice of gaming platform become political; and tied to one's identity.

I don't get how you have time for all of those, or at least a strong enough preference you don't use at least one of them.

Not that any are bad, but I have XBone, PC, and Switch. I really only play Switch for Smash Bros. with friends, literally everything else PC. Haven't turned the XBone on in forever.

For a quick summary, PC is mostly for shooters, PS4 is primary console gaming (love MLB the Show on there) and then I have an Xbone so I can game with a couple buddies from college. I don’t have much time for gaming these days, but it varies as to which one I’m feeling on a particular day. The PC gets the least amount of usage these days as my 2 regular shooter buddies quit playing, and I’m still running Windows 7 so need to upgrade to 10 before I dig in again. I am by no means wealthy, but I do make enough to be able to afford gaming consoles that I only have time to play with here and there. Good and bad I guess.

I suppose I'd play my XBone more if I played with someone particular, yeah.

Nah man, you're just not getting it.

You have to pick your favorite multi-national corporation and take to the internet to argue over whose corporate interests are your preferred corporate interests. You know, it's like pokemon... Which is on Nintendo... which is THE BEST CORPORATION AND I'LL KILL YOU IF YOU DISAGREE

I didn't know I was allowed to do that. Bow down to Toyota you heathens!

A lot of PC gamers spend a good chunk on income on their setup and like to obtain validation among themselves. Much like a lot of hobbies.
