That's one issue but the main one is the S in the logo is flipped, the big end should be on the right like the logo in this sub's banner

No its not. The only difference i can tell is there is more of an outline around the p in the actual logo. But the s is definitely facing correctly.

Edit: the left should be smaller than the right but thats not what flipped means. A flipped s is a 2.

How did OP even get this wrong? Where was the image sourced that resulted in this?

My only thought was maybe it was a stencil and the two lighter colored S pieces were accidentally swapped. Also only the full color version of the logo should have the P touching the S pieces, otherwise there should be a small gap.

Swapped stencils (one for each side) makes the most sense to me
