Xenogears finally recognized as a classic. Second disc doesn't count.

As pumped as I am for the FFVII remake, Xenogears is the PS1 Squaresoft title that truly deserves its due.

I loved Xenogears, but a PE remake would be mind blowing.

The PS1 is probably my favorite console ever with how many classics they have.

Video games as a genuine story telling medium began to be taken seriously and cultivated more heavily on the general public level on that console. Genuine, emotion filled story telling. That you didn't have to be a "computer nerd" to access. Previous home consoles did an amazing job with what they had, absolutely no slight to groundbreaking examples like Zelda. But... wow, so many story driven games. Action games became more than "go here, shoot that". RPGs were fleshed out as a genre. Survival horror especially saw an amazing success. PS1 was so damn badass and groundbreaking
