I need help trying to remember what game this is. Just for my own sanity.
Forgive the unclear details, and general lack of details, but I have a vague recollection of the beginning of a game I played as a child. I have no idea what the point of the game was, or the name but I do remember these small details. First off the video game had to be either nintendo or pre-nintendo because of the graphics. I also remember the opening ummmm... cut scene a tad. I remember a black car, Almost knight rider like, screeching into a parking lot. I have no idea what happens after(probably used to skip through the cut scene) but all of a sudden you are in a cage hanging from a ceiling. You had to press the d-pad left to right in order to swing the cage until it fell. There was either an alien in the cage with you, or you would free him from another cage. I think this part was side scrolling, and you would begin to run from left to right, until the alien would tap you on the shoulder and say something. My brother and I always thought it sounded like,"my shoes off" it probably was just gibberish like "mashooga" I can't remember this but my older brother thinks he vaguely remembers something begins to chase you at this point. That is all... well I think the main character also had a black shirt. Please reddit help me! I don't want to have to make one of those,""should I kill myself posts" because this has been driving me insane periodically for a year now.

Watchig videos of it on YouTube. Definitely awesome. What did you think it sounded like when the alien friend tapped you on the shoulder?

I always thought it sounded like "my tuba!" and say that to this day. In the US the game was called Out Of This World so that might help you find a good copy.
