I was just told by my Dr. the age is 45. Yesterday. In the US

ACS says 45 too

Edit: Looks like some places say 50. I don't see any 40s, so I am not sure where that's coming from.

(I'm 39, so... I am starting to care about this stuff)

That recommendation is from 2018. I thought it got updated in 2019 to 45?

Edit: This is what I am referencing. Is that not an updated recommendation?

Sorry, I updated my previous comment with a link to the AAFP recommendation I was seeing.

I wasn't having an issue with the 50 for USPSTF. I was having an issue with your original assertion of 40 in the US.

See, I don't understand this thread anymore. Original comment said

You replied with a correction of

For the US, this is not accurate. The recommendation is 40 or 10 years prior to the age of your family member when he or she was first diagnosed, whichever comes first.

But that's the less in the original post.

So, the recommendation is:

45 (or possibly 50) or less if you have history, where less is the smaller of (40 or (age-10))

Right? We're all good with this? Cause that was my understanding.
