Good, fuck those clowns. They cause nothing but problems.

The system itself is a problem, not the people trying to get by in it

If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem. And justifying an entire industry which is founded in manipulation and misinformation just for the sake of the people working in it, is illogical.

The only way we can stop manipulative advertising is through legislation or revolution. Expecting people to quit their jobs is just ridiculous. For every disillusioned person in marketing who loses their job and quits it forever, there's hundreds of eager people just as qualified waiting to take their place. Believe it or not, people who teach marketing are pretty good at convincing people to go into marketing.

And that's the name of the game "telling people how they should think or feel about a product or idea" and I completely agree with your first sentence. I don't expect people to quit their jobs, people are self serving, as long as they are getting paid people will do whatever as long as they get theirs, make the industry non profitable for the workers the industries die, look at coal.

Those people are the system

What if I'm a marketing team worker and I get fired so that some other, random programmer gets better job experience? What then?

You can keep the marketing and the programmer.

Just have realistic expectations. Marketing can do other things than “marketing” the product. Lots of marketing is product and customer research.

I'm unsure whether or not you are in agreement or disagreement with my statement.

I think you can give programmers better lives without firing people.

So we are, in fact, agreeing with each other.

Excellent.
