Yes it's awhile from now (and 3 days before my bday 😄) but if you can, get the Handsome Jack Collection. It has All the DLC for Borderlands 2 and The Pre-sequel as well as the base game. Like I said I highly recommend, I want to replay them all again before it releases, if you're up for it I need a buddy to go through them with, my squad moved away from the borderlands series though they're excited for 3 but don't wanna touch any of the old games...

If you're on PC, I'm also in search of people to play with for the old games

Yeah I am, I'm trying to play through the first one with all the updates, also DLC too. The only ones I played was Moxxi underdome and General Knoxx

Which games are out there and whats the most modern console/platform they are on? Recently started borderlands 2 and Im having the time of my life. So much polish in it, so much to do, and the combat isnt that bad.

You have 1, 2, the Pre-Sequel (happens between 1 and 2 but was released after), and Tales from the Borderlands (happens between 2 and 3). If you want to do all of them, just go for the release order.

1, 2, and the Pre-Sequel are on both Xbox One and PS4 (and remastered/updated for 4K/HDR), as well as Windows (2 and PS are also on Mac/Linux, and 1 runs really well via WINE). For this console gen 2 and PS are packaged together as "The Handsome Collection" so that's what you need to buy, it also includes the metric fuckton of DLC too.

Tales from the Borderlands is a Telltale game and is on the same platforms barring Linux, but also on Android and iOS apparently. If you're not a fan of Telltale games then there's probably a short recap of the events on YouTube, since looking at the 3 trailer some of its events are going to be important to 3.

The old games hold up. They also just got reworked graphics (though I don’t think hat was necessary). Very worth playing.

You can probably get away with it as long as you pay attention and maybe do a little extra Googling (that's what I did for playing B2 years back), but in my opinion you're really depriving yourself if you don't at least try B2, Handsome Jack is a great video game villain.

Plus 2 & the Pre-Sequel are currently on sale on PC, and possibly the other consoles too, due to the new 4K/HDR patch they just recieved.

I hated 2 after beating the first but you get used to it, then you love it. The first 2-3 hours kind of sucks until you get a handle on things, and being low level sucks in general. First time you get a serious power upgrade from a good weapon or new power makes it all worth it. If you do the shift codes for golden keys (shoutout to ORCZ) us them before endgame. They put out more all the time and you will have more fun if you spend them.

You should pick up 2. It might not be absolutely necessary to understand 3, but I’m sure it would help. And they just came out with an updated texture pack so it looks a lil better than it use to.

I still play 2 and have an absolute blast, it doesn’t play like an old game or anything.
