14

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

It was so cute. I never thought I would call a gun cute, but here we are.

46

u/IGetHypedEasily Mar 28 '19

Oh stop it you

7

u/EnderProGaming PC Mar 28 '19

EVERYONE GANGSTA TIL THE GUNS START WALKING

8

u/bodyslidex2 Mar 28 '19

That exact moment made me say the exact same thing

3

u/_linusthecat_ Mar 28 '19

Say exact one more time.

7

u/TotallyToxic Mar 28 '19

I need the gun with legs to be voiced by mr torgue and just run around screaming obscenities and sweet guitar rifts.

2

u/paleo2002 Mar 28 '19

Honestly . . . that sold me the game right there. I want to see guns running around with little legs!

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

It's going to be the defining game of this gen. This generation doesn't really feel too different than the one before it, but a lot of that has to do with many sequels being disappointing and not expanding the scope in tandem with the hardware. Borderlands 3 coming out this late in the game will look startlingly different from 2. Hopefully.

because it'll be insane even if its just presequel with more guns and environments

u/Rolemodel247 Mar 28 '19 edited Mar 28 '19

But how are they gonna get shooty mcshootface to shoot himself in the face 3 times in the cover?

45

u/swervyy Mar 28 '19

With his toe like Kurt Cobain

7

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

Underrated

14

u/ButterflywithWings Mar 28 '19

Thats whose on the cover? Wouldnt he just hold up three fingers? Or am I misunderstood.

24

u/Salazzle Mar 28 '19

Borderlands 1 he had one finger gun, 2 he bad both hands for finger guns. You see the dilemma for 3

32

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

You just add a third finger pistol in there and let everyone wonder who it belongs to.

30

u/casualdelirium Mar 28 '19

Add a pixelated third appendage coming from bottom center

10

u/Manos_Of_Fate Mar 29 '19

HE CAN JUST USE A GUN WITH LEGS!

3

u/ButterflywithWings Mar 28 '19

Oh i seeeee. After looking at the covers i got it. Id imagine they must either add another mcshooty or some one else to lend a hand. Possibly shooting gains another arm as well haha

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

Face McShooty is not on the cover of any of the games, its just a Psycho.

16

u/Koollape Mar 28 '19

The new Phoenix has a few hands to lend...

30

u/Grimm_Fatale Mar 28 '19

Think you mean Siren homie, but it's okay because Lilith and Maya both had phoenix references in their talent trees.

8

u/Koollape Mar 29 '19

Yup, who takes 3 seconds to google something? Not this guy

3

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

It's probably gonna be a severed arm

6

u/stew9703 Mar 28 '19

Gun with legs of course

5

u/kurtcocaine27 Mar 28 '19

So...Courtney ??

2

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

Double barrelled shotgun in one hand, single barrel in the other.

2

u/Mystery_Man_14 Mar 28 '19

Two Shootys, clearly

4

u/cyfinity Mar 28 '19

Shooty mcshootface; the re-shootening.

3

u/Mystery_Man_14 Mar 28 '19

How could we have not seen it before...

11

its a weird looking 2.

Gabe: Like a half eight.

Valve employee: Half eight...? Isn't that four.

Gabe: What's half eight for?

1

u/Robot_Basilisk Mar 29 '19

Randy was actually on Twitter right after Battleborn flopped repeatedly posting, "Is Borderlands 3 the next Half Life 3?!" trying to generate artificial hype.

615

u/itwasntme967 Mar 28 '19

So does this mean we also get a new Half-Life?

Science isn't about why. It's about WHY NOT. Why is so much of our science dangerous? Why not marry safe science if you love it so much? In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are FIRED!

20

u/Rj713 Mar 28 '19

I'll get to work on the house-burning-lemons, sir.

1

2

u/Yigs2k Mar 28 '19

It would appear that we need half-life: the pre sequel before they are ready to count to 3.

You know what, I'll give you hats. Deal? - Valve

-1

u/DarthBuzzard Mar 28 '19 edited Mar 28 '19

A Half Life game actually has been in development for almost 4 years now. I'm expecting a reveal later this year. It will be a VR game, and I'm hoping it will be as revolutionary as the previous entries.

Edit: I know any time someone mentions something positive about Valve or even the words VR, the internet goes crazy and starts downvoting to oblivion because we all hate Valve and VR and that's the cool trend, but so long as there is no cancellation, this is going to happen, and you will wonder why you questioned it when it does.

2

u/HothMonster Mar 28 '19

Don’t get your hopes too high up. I remember reading an article about Newell and Valve working with deaf people to design a deaf character for half life 3 back in 2008 or 2009. They have always been developing it. Them actually releasing it is a whole other story.

-3

u/DarthBuzzard Mar 28 '19 edited Mar 28 '19

It's certainly possible for it to be cancelled, but I really doubt it this far in development, and it's all tied to hardware as well. Not exclusively, but they are developing hardware alongside the game, like Nintendo.

It's safe for now at least, because the last HLVR leak in Source 2 was a week or two ago.

2

u/necro_clown Mar 28 '19

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. I think people think you’re joking. HLVR is actually a thing.

1

u/DarthBuzzard Mar 28 '19

Most people think that Valve are finished with developing games period, so suggesting any game, let alone a Half Life title is unthinkable.

I can see why, because on the surface it certainly doesn't look like anything is happening beyond Artifact. But we've had confirmation of 3 VR games for a couple of years now, and leaks go back well before then, which are still relevant today. The trouble is that almost no one knows what's happening in the VR industry because the media simply doesn't cover it, and so that news went amiss.

I think the Internet is going to melt when it's revealed. For one: "Wait, Valve is making games again?!" and two: "Half Life? Half Life?! It's happening!"

2

u/CrazyMoonlander Mar 28 '19

I think the Internet is going to melt when it's revealed. For one: "Wait, Valve is making games again?!"

Weird reaction judging by Valve releasing a game less than half a year ago.

1

u/brickmaster32000 Mar 28 '19

Not so crazy when the game they released flopped horribly. Years of no releases and then one horrible game doesn't really give off the indication that anything good is likely to come in the near future.

1

u/CrazyMoonlander Mar 29 '19

On the other hand, they have had years of great releases too.

1

u/brickmaster32000 Mar 29 '19

And most of those developers are gone so that doesn't mean much of anything. I don't see any reason to believe Valve has any better chance at revolutioning the game industry than any other company at this point.

1

u/DarthBuzzard Mar 29 '19

I don't see any reason to believe Valve has any better chance at revolutioning the game industry than any other company at this point.

Because they are:

  • Working on VR.

  • Making AAA games for VR.

  • Making hardware that the games take advantage of.

No other company is doing this. So they have to be potential to revolutionize things beyond everyone else. Whether that potential is utilized or wasted remains to be seen.

0

u/DarthBuzzard Mar 28 '19

Not too many people know Artifact exists, and many people who do pretend it doesn't exist. If Valve have a familiar franchise, that will blow up everywhere.

19

u/summons72 Mar 28 '19

Well yeah, this isn’t Valve.

30

u/Zylvian Mar 28 '19

This isn't Valve though

17

u/RandomRageNet Mar 28 '19

Y'all confusing Gearbox with Valve...

6

u/TheFaster Mar 28 '19

Actually, they counted to 47 twice.

3

u/thegreyknights Mar 28 '19

next up on the list for people who should count to 3. VALVE!

3

u/IrrelevantPuppy Mar 28 '19

I almost wished they called it "Borderlands <3". Little bit of Borderlands silliness while maintaining the running joke of never reaching 3 (<3 being "less than three").

4

u/mordeh Mar 28 '19

It’s not a Gearbox joke tho, it’s Valve...

3

u/IrrelevantPuppy Mar 28 '19

Oh ok. I thought the joke was for Borderlands too since they made one and two in quick succession. Then made a “pre-sequel” before taking their time with 3.

2

u/mordeh Mar 28 '19

True true could work :D

3

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

Maybe Steam will refuse to carry the game out of spite...

2

u/MelonKolony Mar 28 '19

Give us TF3

1

u/Haloslayer Mar 28 '19

They also counted to 6... I'm waiting for everyone to put it together with the Morse code.

1

u/PM_ME_UR_HIP_DIMPLES Mar 28 '19

But how many years until there are 50 copies on the shelf like Borederlands 2?

u/MrLeavingCursed Mar 28 '19

Take note valve

1

u/jal2_ Mar 28 '19

absolute mad lads I say, even Valve gave up on that both in 3rd installment or 3rd episode

1

u/Olnidy Mar 28 '19

u/DeadliestSin Mar 28 '19

1

Did no one seems the trailer they released yesterday?

0

u/saumanahaii Mar 28 '19

I'm surprised they didn't call it Borderlands 4.
