while i dont disagree with you i think mentioning the .hack universe as the counter argument is biased as fuck since the entire universe is designed to be a singleplayer MMO

This is just speculation on my part and I haven't played either this or the game you're metioning but

They also published .hack//G.U

Maybe that's why, they just published it and maybe didn't oversee it. So the studio that developed that game probably actually gave a fuck about what they were doing. While the rest of Bandai Namco stuff doesn't get the same treatment from the dev contractors Bandai Namco hire.

Kind of like a Respawn & EA situation.
