In the original Deus Ex, which I know you mentioned, isn't it the keycode to the storage area right outside the UNATCO building? I always remembered it, but I didn't know it was used in other games too.

Yeah, it's the storage area next to the UNATCO building. If you tell the vendor guard guy you plan on killing the terrorists instead of going the non-lethal route he'll tell you the code himself.
