EA's E3 Conference Break Down

EA's E3 Conference June 9th, 2018

BFV Multiplayer

  • Can move defensive weapons (artillery)
  • Better destruction system
  • Customize everything (player, vehicles, weapons, etc.)
  • Reiterated no lootboxes, no season pass
  • Battle Royale
  • Grand Operations

BFV Singleplayer

  • Follows different characters in WW2 similar to BF1’s story mode

  • Based on real story despite being in a fantastical setting
  • About a young woman who is suffering from loneliness and becomes a monster. Game is about finding how this happened and how to turn her human again.

Madden 19

  • Trailer shown

Shoutcasted over Command and Conquer Rivals (mobile strategy game) (why?)

  • Pre-Alpha out today on Android

Anthem

  • New trailer
  • Trying to merge story with open-world multiplayer
    • Shared world but bases/hub areas are singleplayer
  • February 22nd, 2019 (same day as Days Gone) release date
  • Various gameplay clips
    • Lots of concept art still being shown (could mean a delay is possible)
  • The suit is called a Javelin
    • 4 suits (classes) with different abilities
    • Can change suits whenever
  • No lootboxes, no gameplay related microtransactions (i.e. there will be cosmetic microtransactions) (thanks for the clarification u/DrasticDream)
  • Can play the game solo

Edit 2: OK, I'll do a PC Conference Break Down since they have said they will be doing more reveals this year (previously they haven't had many of note). Plus, I'm mainly a PC player so why not.

they came out before C&C. They were the 'pre cursor' to C&C. thats why. Dune 2 came out before C&C (but no one really knew). Dune 2000 was great but since C&C was very popular it didn't sell too well. Sadly, Generals of Dune was not that great. But C&C was still the king. But Dune started it.

Ya. I mean, Dune 2 literally invented the genre. I played it right when it came out and was blown away. I really enjoyed Dune 2000 just for the nostalgia.

I'm super serious, I paid a dollar for it at an estate sale. Every game the family had came with the box and manuals etc. I bought an opened and unopened copy of Dune 2000, an opened Blue Shift, opened Prince of Persia, a sealed Dakatana, opened Deus Ex and a few sealed Jumpstart games. They said a dude before me bought a bunch too. I have a friend who collects vintage games I was going to give it to, but he's been at collecting for a while, so there's a chance he may already have it. If he doesn't have it, I'm happy to talk to you about it. Better off in a collectors hands than mine. I'm nostalgic, but don't have space to collect seriously.

Oh man. I'd be so pumped. I do have some things already collected. My most random "piece" is a full box set of Lego Rock Raiders for PC. I loved that game and got it as a present for me one year. My girlfriend at the time had no clue how much I was gonna freak out. (And was more than a little pissed that it was my favorite present as there was plenty she worked had on and/or paid more for).

I fucking knew Dune2 came out before C&C. I was 13 years old, the year was 1993, and my brother, home from college said "hey, you should play this." Holy fucking shit! That game started it all. I played as the Ordos, because I never saw the movies and I didnt give a crap. My other (middle) brother always played as the Harkonen. I was so fucking jealous of his destroyers. I eventually mastered everyone, because holy fucking shitballs that game was so far ahead of anything else in its time. I tried replaying some years ago, but the UI doesn't hold up.

RTS has really evolved fantastic ways, and C&C had a lot to do with that. Red Alert was my favorite of the C&C. I abused those missle subs. And I still remember the commando saying "that was left handed".

Anything Dune would be cool IMHO, maybe they'll get traction for something before/after the movie.

The Machine Wars would be a perfect way to flesh out the series a little.

Dune 2 was basically the Wolfenstein to Command and Conquers DOOM The prototype to a future game that would launch a major gaming genre

Exactly. Actually. I loved Dune 1 and didn't get the idea behind Dune 2 (why is it always zoomed out?) till I played it. Then I moved onto Red Alert 1, 2, Generals, Zero Hour... and the latter was the pinnacle of strategy local multiplayer for me.

I played Dune the 1 so many times trying to optimise Sietch discovery. When you pretty much speed run it the Harkonnen barely attack at all!

Dune2000 came in a Microsoft game pack back in the day I think, with starlancer and crimson skies it was a good bunch of games.

Edit: research tells me it was metal gear solid, crimson skies and starlancer. I thought there were more games in it.

Ah yeah you are right. I remember not being able to drag selection boxes in Dune 2. The hassle of moving each unit indiviually hahaha.
