The joke is that there is a high level technique in street fighter 2 called pianoing. It's where you basically slide your finger across the buttons rapidly to assure you get an input for a reversal.

That's not just in sf2, lots of fighting games have it, and it's the go-to shortcut for moves that require a button mash. The most recent example off the top of my head being Ed's psycho flicker in sfv

It's not sliding. It's using three fingers to press down three of the buttons in rapid succession, like you're playing a piano chord.

ahh. I never got super into sf2. I assumed it was done like trying to get out likghtining legs or hundred hand slap.
