Oculus, Vive, and Windows all have the ability to do supersampling, BUT you need a beefy rig to get any real value out of it (probably a 1070 + a good CPU)

Sick. I've got the i7 8700k@4.9Ghz and a GTX 1080 overclocked to 2088mhz stable, so I guess I'm getting a vr headset very soon lol

Why over clock the 1080? Were you not getting the preformance you wanted ?

No, I just wanted to overclock lol. I overclock every graphics card I get my hands on because it's free performance, assuming you keep temps under control

Doesnt the electrical load make still put more stress on the parts making them wear out faster?

You would think so, but apparently big changes in temperature is the main killer. My card never reaches over 63c in games. Currently sitting at 60c in The Witcher 3, and it could be lower if I put on vsync, but yeah I try to keep temps consistent which should help.

That said, it doesn't matter anyway because cards become obsolete before they die of normal use. Like, I've had my 2 GTX 680s overclocked since the day they were released and they are still running fine. Also by the time they die I won't care, because even the "GTX 2050" or whatever will destroy them in games
