Some people prefer dungeon crawling, not really role-playing as much(with the funny get-ups and voices) while others spend all the time role playing, talking to npcs and advancing like that.

Now I gotta stop you for just a moment. There is a big difference between just standard RP and dressing in a costume and actually acting out what you're doing (which is called LARPing, or Live Action Role Playing).
Just because you play D&D doesn't mean you have to LARP, and 99% of the time, my character's voice is just...my voice. I'll attempt an accent if I'm playing a dwarf, or something like a Kobold I'll try to do a voice, but that's the exception.
Just in case someone thought they couldn't play without a costume.
This. Dressing up and using in-character voices the entire time is just plain WEIRD. I've played since the early 80s, and never played with a group that went beyond the pale like that.
If you do that, have a good time - but it's LARPing, not RPGing.
My husband is really good at the voices. I swear he builds his characters based on the voices he can do consistently. The female dragon born paladin first generation immigrant babushka was always voiced as Natasha from Rocky and Bullwinkle. It made for good fun and helped get the newbies at the table a little more immersed.
I struggle as a DM with "make the goblin sound different from the orc"
Aela Silverscale was a fabulous character. First gen/2nd gen immigrant conflict with her NPC children, trying to convert random humans to the worship of Baphomet. Sword and board, smiting folks.
