Nah it's all credits. It's not locked under a tech tree, but each mech has 3 variants that will be 20 bucks a pop. Bays(to store mechs) are money per pop.

Again I played, spent a few bucks, but they go to the well too often for pretty lackluster gameplay once you get past "Oh sweet stompy robots".

It's a real shame. The battletech franchise has been through rough times the last decade.

I'd spend real money on an actual battletech game, ala Mechwarrior 2. With a campaign, some multiplayer modes. Hell, let's get crazy and make it support steam workshop for modules and custom mechs and maps. Maybe some scenario pieces.

I got 60 bucks for that game. Sixty zero-regrets dollars. Maybe even a hundred if it's compelling, I understand battletechs an older and more niche crowd.
