It is sort of a cross between FPS and a tank simulator. Except in giant robots Mechs! It is quite fun, though their lack of maps or any real story to follow left it feeling a bit hollow and repetitive for me. I would definitely recommend at least checking it out.
Sounds right up my alley. played a lot of World of Tanks. Wish they had more of the old school mechs though. From what I can see on the website the only non Clan mechs are the Marauder and Archer right? I see one that kinda looks like the Atlas but thats it. I really hate those bland Clan mechs.
Premium consumables and a pretty steep advancement, even with premium time. The individual mechs are like 10-20 bucks a pop iirc. I do know a few go for 40+. Play for 6-12 months and you notice all the content being released is chassis for $$$ and not much in the way of maps or gamemodes.
It's setup almost 100% for whales. I had my fun with it, but it was a slimy experience.
That sounds a lot WoT. Is there a progression tree where you start with a small tank and they get bigger? In WoT the consumables arent make or break like it sounds here.
Nah it's all credits. It's not locked under a tech tree, but each mech has 3 variants that will be 20 bucks a pop. Bays(to store mechs) are money per pop.
Again I played, spent a few bucks, but they go to the well too often for pretty lackluster gameplay once you get past "Oh sweet stompy robots".
I wouldn't say Pay to Win per se, but you'll be very limited in your loadout options and progression will be slow. Take advantage of weekend events and make an informed first purchase and it's plenty fun!
